American Bar Association evaluators referred to conservatives as “you people” and prodded one of President Trump’s judicial picks on his personal beliefs about abortion before slapping him with the group’s lowest judicial rating, the nominee told Congress Wednesday.
Leonard Grasz, nominated for the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, received a “not qualified” rating from the ABA after the grilling. He said that during the questioning it became clear the ABA evaluators didn’t like his pro-life personal stance.
“I was asked repeatedly for my personal opinion on social issues including abortion — it seemed to be a great topic of interest to the reviewer,” Mr. Grasz, an Omaha based lawyer, told the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“The interviewer repeatedly used in a negative connotation the phrase, ‘you people,’ and at one point, I stopped him and I said, sir, who do you mean by ‘you people?’ And he said, ‘conservatives and Republicans.’”
Mr. Grasz also said a reviewer questioned him about a white paper he wrote while serving as Chief Deputy Attorney General of Nebraska, criticizing the ABA’s role in reviewing state judges for being too political with regards to the Second Amendment and abortion rights.
His comments were the latest strike against the ABA and its role in the judicial selection process. Democrats have called the ABA’s rating the “gold standard” for evaluating judge picks, and have suggested low ratings should be a black mark against nominees.
Republicans have been more skeptical of the group’s ratings.

You’ve not ben paying attention apparently. Trump is in the business of exposing people for who they really are. He excels at it.

The ABA endorsed abortion back in the early 1990s. That’s when many lawyers departed from the trade organization.
He’s not paying attention to or waiting for their BS evaluations.
More harm has been done to the USA by those that are part of the aba than about any other group. They bleed the nation with their nonsense.

They were thrown out of the process years ago for doing the same thing. They were only allowed back in by promising good behavior and keeping politics out. Apparently, they just can’t restrain themselves. Time to throw them out for good.

Who you have for enemies says just as much about you as who you have for friends. A bad rating from the ABA because you actually believe in the sanctity of human life is as good a recommendation as anything I can think of.
When the butchers of humanity are your enemies you’re on good, solid ground.
If/when we go back to when I remember things... that was America... no abortions.. no one would have even thought of it being done legally .. and selling the baby parts after they are pulled from limb to limb and the rest cut out of that precious little body... to be sold for profit. How could we have gone this far into absolutely degradation! and then think someone who finds it abhorrent, be the one who is considered wrong.
It goes on from there... all horribly wrong and all thought of by the far left as what they want as ‘normal’. There is nothing normal about their thinking! Most of it is out of the pits!

But his first time up he referred to the other commentators as "You people".
That was his one and only appearance.
Rush has a way of screwing up every time he has a chance to go to the next level (e.g. the black QB controversy, calling Fluke a whore, etc.)

The Democratic Party since its beginnings has been the party of racism and slavery. The American Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Associations have always been tools of the Democratic Party.
