Consumer Confidence Hits Highest Level Since December 2000

Consumers were even more optimistic in October than economists polled by Reuters expected.

Consumer confidence rose to 125.9 in October, according to the Conference Board.

The index "increased to its highest level in almost 17 years," Lynn Franco, Director of Economic Indicators at The Conference Board, said in a statement. That was in December 2000, when the index hit 128.6.

The economic weight of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma pulled down the spirits of U.S. consumers in September, when the index was relatively flat. In October, "consumers' assessment of current conditions improved," Franco said.

"[This was] boosted by the job market which had not received such favorable ratings since the summer of 2001," Franco said.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the Left spent all their energy complaining about the President in a complete reversal of Bill Clinton? We were frustrated about BC not getting held to account among the American public, likely because the economy was doing fairly well. And now, the independents will likely ignore any Trump issues because the economy is really ramping up.

Let's see how much of a threshold the Left has for mental anguish as Trump's popularity starts to rise with the GDP numbers . . .

I was picking up someone at the airport and it was almost impossible to get near the curb at pickup since the airport activity was booming! And a long-closed factory that I sometimes pass is reopened and busy. Anecdotal, I know, but still evidence of a growing economy.

Now if President Trump could stop the personal attacks via Twitter and stepping on his own d*ck all the time his numbers will rise higher, faster.

It's been pretty well established that the less President Trump "tweets" and does what he says he was going to do his poll numbers bounce back relatively quickly.

Now that you mention it, neither did I. I'm so used to the lying liberal lamestream media going hyper-negative on President Trump that now my dyslexic brain is INSERTING those negative words when they're missing.

Dammit that's annoying.

The Democrats have to hire people with “diverse life experiences “ straight white men tend not to be criminals, and having non criminals handling the Democrats files could be very bad for the Democrats.
