The lobbying firms the Podesta Group and Mercury Public Affairs are the unnamed companies in the grand jury indictment of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his deputy, Rick Gates, according to three sources with knowledge of the investigation.
The indictment, unsealed Monday, refers to "Company A" and "Company B" as the firms Manafort and Gates solicited in 2012 to lobby on behalf of the Ukranian government. Company A is Mercury Public Affairs and Company B is the Podesta Group, the sources said.
The revelation of the companies’ identities points to more details about the players involved in the high-stakes venture run by Manafort and Gates to push the interest of a pro-Russia Ukranian political party inside the United States. It also provides a glimpse into the material special prosecutor Robert Mueller has corroborated on both companies and the potential legal repercussions both groups could face.
According to the indictment, the lobbying firms were paid $2 million from offshore accounts controlled by Manafort.
Their work included lobbying "multiple members of Congress and their staffs about Ukraine sanctions, the validity of Ukraine elections" that the reasons for imprisoning Yulia Tymoshenko, the political rival of Russian-backed Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
The indictment also revealed that Gates told Company A, now known to be Mercury, in February 2012 that it would be "representing the Government of Ukraine in [Washington] D.C."

I think the article makes great points.
One thing we know, Manafort should have a great legal team.
And that brings up another good point about keeping money offshore...
If it is out of the US, the Feds can’t do a lightening fast asset seizure and leave you unable to pay for your defense. And that happens all the time.
Having money offshore means the Feds will have to follow the law and go through the legal system of the other country and prove things.
Word to the wise.
I would be very happy to be wrong, but there is too much information telling me that Mueller is a swamp monster and not an honest prosecutor to have any hope about his intentions. Rosenstein, too. Mueller was picked before the inauguration to be doing what he is doing, and Rosey was in on it.
He is a poster that is quite prescient, with astute observations and a political and history background we all could only wish to have.

OK, that makes sense. Thank you for the clarification. No I wasn’t on the thread at that time, only later. And admittedly I didn’t go back and read the beginning.
But all I saw was a bunch of people ganging up and being quite obnoxious to one poster. A poster who didn’t respond in kind. Since the outcome of this is unknown, belittling someone who has a different point of view isn’t necessary. He could be right, he could be wrong. And that makes everybody else wrong or right, respectively. Only time will tell and I don’t think being rude is necessary. It’s just too much like how the Liberals act.
Now, if he was rude to everyone in the beginning – and I missed that – then the response is probably warranted.

I am pretty sure fom a legal standpoint mueller should NOT have an alliance with trump..I asked someone I know in DC..and the answer was that if there is one LS should not be shooting off his mouth broadcasting because it is highly problematic
So i take it that you dont want mueller to resign and you believe he is not outside of his scope??
