"Why do people talk to investigators?"

Well there is arrogance and poor judgment then there are things called subpoenas to testify before grand juries.

They can force you to show up, but they can't force you to talk if you claim the 5th amendment.

And in response to each of those, including a grand jury, is the Fifth Amendment. There is not charges for failing to answer their questions.

Plant in your mind now that if you ever hear the words from an investigator Hi we would like to ask you a few questions, you say nothing. Not a word.

Short of a blanket guarantee of immunity from prosecution agreement approved by my lawyer, I should not say anything.
