With the resignation of Dana Boente on Friday as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, President Donald Trump has an opportunity to replace another Obama-era holdover in the Department of Justice line of succession. If Trump demands that the department fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and if enough officials resign or get fired rather than carry out his order, the decision to do so could fall to Boentes successor.
As Attorney General Jeff Sessions has told the Senate Judiciary Committee, Trump has been interviewing candidates for some of the 93 open U.S. attorney positions. Democratic lawmakers and legal analysts have claimed his involvement in that process is inappropriate. But the Eastern District of Virginia role is especially important, thanks to an executive order that Trump signed in March.
The order altered the line of succession at the top of the Justice Department. The order includes three U.S. attorneys, meaning that making departmental decisions such as whether to fire Mueller could fall on one of them. Mueller is overseeing the FBI investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and possible coordination with the Trump campaign.

DUweak, they're presidential appointees it's totally appropriate.
If Mueller is going after Podesta there is no need to fire him.
Ping. While not a direct call to remove Mueller, it is certainly implied in this article from a news outlet of the swamp.
Democratic lawmakers and legal analysts have claimed his involvement in that process is inappropriate.
Clinton fired every single sitting US Attorney. Remember how incensed the Democrats were when he did that?
Yea, me neither.

Was going to post the same. Replacement of hired hands is nothing new.
I suppose, in their minds, the President is supposed to ask them to nominate someone, and then okay that nomination without any kind of review whatsoever? Or is the President supposed to use the leftist crony method, where he appoints people because they've done some favor or given him generous "campaign" funds?
There are about 3,400 Obama appointees that Trump could fire ad he should have already fired them all. My guess is Rinse Pre-wash convinced him not to fire them.
If Mueller is going after Podesta, it would be the democrats calling for his firing. They are not.
It’s way too late to fire Mueller while keeping Trump in the White House.
Either Mueller arrests Obama and Clinton, or we need a military coup.
If Trump fires Mueller using normal processes, he will be impeached in 48 hours and removed the next day.
Mueller is entangled in the Uranium 1 mess. People are starting to abandon ship.
Unless Mueller is provably connected to a crime. Then, it becomes a legal necessity.
“Either Mueller arrests Obama and Clinton, or we need a military coup.”
Oh goodie! Can we have helicopter rides?
There is zero evidence of any kind leading to Russian collusion with Trump at this point. Its all FBI, Hillary, Podesta and the DNC. The two indictments are likely Manafort and Podesta. I doubt they have enough on Manafort to make anything stick.
All trails lead to Democrats at this time. I don’t see Comey getting out of this without an indictment somewhere along the line.
I must agree it he could and should fire Rosenstein whos replacement could get the Rat bastard under control.
Fn Sessions no recusal no Mueller. Infamy.
Mueller is a Rat theres no way hes going after Podesta or any other D. Anyone who thinks so is dreaming.
Read the story. Talk about a headline that doesn’t even fractionally hold up in the story.
At least fire all the attorneys in the 9th Circuit.
Fewer lib causes will get to the lib judges.
