Colonies and overseas possessions =/= integrated parts of the metropolitan nation like Catalonia is to Spain.

We are talking about something like Wales, and Scotland, not The British Indian Ocean Territory or Belize.

Ok then, they have four and two of them have held votes to stay or go. In US terms that would be as if 25 states had help votes about whether to stay part of the US or leave.

It is a pretty amazing thing and quite a logical way of going about it.
