Bernstein: Indicted Trump officials could face 50 years
Axios ^ | October 28, 2017 | Haley Britzky

Posted on 10/28/2017 1:17:53 PM PDT by EdnaMode

Carl Bernstein said yesterday on CNN that Special Counsel Robert Mueller may be wanting "to send a signal to other prospective defendants," by filing his first charges yesterday in the Russia investigation.

"If this person who has been indicted, or persons, are facing 20 to 40 to 50 years for whatever these crimes are - related to collusion or not - there may be others who are subject to similar charges who have further knowledge about dealings with Russia...There are a lot of intentions that the special council is trying to convey here, I suspect."

Why it matters: The charges filed by Mueller yesterday could result in anyone charged being taken into custody by Monday.

Sessions is still asleep. He is totally and completely useless.

Well, he is pretty busy reviving the D.A.R.E program. I heard he is working really hard on a new decale for the D.A.R.E cars too!

Hillary has to much dirt everyone.

That, and notice that a lot of sex trade arrests are going on. Quietly, behind the scenes.

Our side needs a special prosecutor to go after the uranium deal to shut up people like Bernstein. He’s s total lowlife.

We wouldn't need a special prosecutor if we had an Attorney General.

F ITS MANAFORT TRUMP WILL PARDON HIM
_____
1) Manafort seems to have played both sides of the street.
2)The indictments are under NYS law, not Federal. Trump has no pardoning power for state *crimes*.

<> You need charges before you start pontificating on penalties.<>

Yes, in a Constitutional republic. In totalitarian regimes the state identifies the criminal and comes up with the felony charges later on.

We are at a crossroads. Who will go to prison? The criminals or the innocent?

My bet is Manafort, but the charges will relate to the difficulties with his no-good son-in-law, who was under FBI investigation for fraud and money laundering long before Manafort was targeted in the Russia probe. Manafort had to try and bail him out of a huge real estate development mess and may have become complicit — or allegedly so. That investigation was already well along (at least three FBI field offices involved) and a pretty much lay-down case when Mueller stepped in and probably commandeered that probe to hog the glory and use it as leverage against Manafort.

”The Abscam investigation took two years...

Trump may not have two years to get this investigation (if there is one) into high gear. If the Dems pull off an upset next year, he’ll have his hands full fending off impeachment proceedings.

Sessions needs to have something going in the fast lane NOW.

Re: Sessions. He seems to be a “nice guy” but is absolutely out of touch with his position in the Government. It is like having NOBODY home in the DOJ.

This is not an accident. The never Trumpers and the democraps have caused a paralysis in the government that is calculated to bring Trump down and the rest of the nation with him. We are headed for Anarchy, Communism and Death to all who oppose those left wing commie bastards.
