WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A federal judge has given an unnamed bank more time to respond to a congressional subpoena for financial records of the Washington research firm that hired a former British spy to compile a dossier on presidential candidate Donald Trump.

YEBBIE!.........................
The wheels of justice turn very slowly.
What is there to negotiate? Congress subpoenaed the records, turn them over.
On what authority is this judge acting? This is a subpoena from Congress, not the courts.

Trump and other Republicans have alleged that Russians paid Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, for research on their own dealings with Trump and his campaign. The Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee has sought Fusions bank records in an effort to pursue those allegations.
Russians paid Fusion????
Are they serious? Or a typo?
Fusion GPS went to court to block the subpoena. Decision due sometime Monday and Fusion will lose.
The Courts have no authority over Congress in these matters.
None.

That's the way I read it -- but remember, that's an allegation Team Trump has made and is not yet substatiated. The Russians hate the Magnitsky Act. The reason the Russians wanted a meeting with DJT Jr. was to make the case to repeal the Magnitsky Act. (Of course, the Russians lied to DJT Jr., telling him the reason for the meeting was to relay information about Mrs. Clinton.)
I'm guessing the allegation is that Fusion GPS was hired to work for the repeal of the Magnitsky Act. Perhaps even the DJT Jr. meeting was even a set-up by Fusion GPS in its efforts to repeal the Magnitsky Act.
Gathering two years bank records for one business shouldn’t take two hours. I wouldn’t put it past these crooks to try tonfalsify the records at this point, but hopefully the banks are completely independent.
I would hope the Courts can quash unconstitutional subpoenas from the Legislative Branch just like it quashes unconstitutional subpoenas from the Executive Branch.
Exactly.
Hey Fusion GPS, Bryan Pagliano will tell you how to totally ignore a subpoena from Congress and get away with it.
Red, U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan was appointed by Obozo - she was born in Kingston Jamaica ....
When was the last time the Executive branch issued a subpoena?
L
It seems clear that the Russians did hire Fusion to lobby for the repeal of the Magnitsky Act.
But I cannot connect the dots from that particular Fusion Project to Hillarys Trump Dossier job.
All we have is: Fusion GPS knows the Russians. Thats not much.
What am I missing?
Fusion was playing everbody and getting far more from the Russians than from the Dimms. This is a pattern seen elsewhere as Fusion only makes a small portion of their money from US sources. This was revealed on Seans’s radio show yesterday.
It happens all the time. I don't know the most recent one, but you seem to be under the impression that the Executive Branch can't issue subpoenas. Here is an example of an Executive branch subpoena.
Thanks.

Sounds like the entire crew at Fusion should be in witness protection....and not trying to impete the investigation
as the clintionistas and dimms are known for punishing leakers...the Russians more so.
