Mueller facing new Republican pressure to resign in Russia probe
Fox News ^ | 10/27/17 | By Brooke Singman

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is facing a fresh round of calls from conservative critics for his resignation from the Russia collusion probe, amid revelations that have called into question the FBI’s own actions and potentially Mueller’s independence....

Critics question whether Mueller’s own ties to the bureau as well as fired FBI director James Comey now render him compromised as he investigates allegations of Russian meddling and collusion with Trump officials in the 2016 race.

“The federal code could not be clearer – Mueller is compromised by his apparent conflict of interest in being close with James Comey,” Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., who first called for Mueller to step down over the summer, said in a statement to Fox News on Friday. “The appearance of a conflict is enough to put Mueller in violation of the code. … All of the revelations in recent weeks make the case stronger.”

Maybe LS simply remembers Trump promising Hillary that if he got elected he would get his AG to appoint a special prosecutor to “look into her situation”.

Well he did get elected, and his AG did appoint a special prosecutor. Was it necessary for him to tip off Hillary’s helpers by announcing the target?

Thank you for very succinctly explaining the supposed theory, which at least now does seem to have some logic behind it. However, simply put, it looks too good to be true. It also doesn’t explain why Mueller was sending SWAT teams to Manafort’s house, but none to Tony Podesta’s when his name came up this week.

I’m not being negative, just looking at all the evidence, and Mueller’s history which has included many previous scandals and coverups, which lead me to severely doubt all these Hillary supporters he hired would have signed up on his team, much less still be on board if he were targeting her all along.

Do we need a special counsel to investigate the special counsel?

Mueller was hired for only ONE reason: to protect the Clinton crime family. His second task, if possible, was to find something on Trump that could be presented to the grand jury. It really is that simple.

Your theory is no less “crackpot” given the one inescapable fact: Trump hired him.

According to Senator Grassley, yes, we do. He said to investigate Uranium One, but that includes investigating Mueller, Rosenstien, Comey, etc, all of which need it.

If I’m wrong, he’s certainly barking up the wrong (Cankles) tree, then, and is as of today 100% ineffective.

It’s really that wrong.

DT hired him.

one inescapable fact: Trump hired him.

No he didn't, and you've been called out by many others on this thread for claiming he did. AG Sessions himself has said he didn't even know about Mueller being hired until it was announced in the press.

And I don't have a theory, just the conventional wisdom shared by most. If you want to counter that, feel free, but you need a lot more evidence than you've shown so far. And it's rubbing many of us the wrong way since you appear to be comforting the enemy without cause, or concern. Using flimsy evidence as you have, your own motives could be questioned, but that's not how I operate. I just want you to put up or shut up, st least for now. Thanks.

Go back and review how dangerous the situation was for Pres. Trump in May, just after Comey was fired. Dems and RINOs were close to getting a head count for impeachment in the House.

Rosenstein’s appointment of Mueller, FBI Director under both parties, couldn’t be opposed or delayed by Congress. It bought enough time for the truth of the last few days to be revealed. And there certainly seems to have been no real damage to the President or anyone in his administration.

“It also doesn’t explain why Mueller was sending SWAT teams to Manafort’s house”

That certainly makes it look like Team Mueller is hostile to Team Trump when the media reports it. Which will make it harder for them to claim that Mueller & Co are in the bag for the administration when indictments come down against Hillary, Lynch, Holder or whomever. Trump is not the only one who understands the value of putting on a good show.

He will never resign. A special prosecutor who will make him a target needs to be appointed.

“Exactly. Mueller pretended to go after Trump, and got the big media playing his game”

If this was true why did Mueller load his team with Rat mercenaries?
