Mueller facing new Republican pressure to resign in Russia probe
Fox News ^ | 10/27/17 | By Brooke Singman

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is facing a fresh round of calls from conservative critics for his resignation from the Russia collusion probe, amid revelations that have called into question the FBI’s own actions and potentially Mueller’s independence....

Critics question whether Mueller’s own ties to the bureau as well as fired FBI director James Comey now render him compromised as he investigates allegations of Russian meddling and collusion with Trump officials in the 2016 race.

“The federal code could not be clearer – Mueller is compromised by his apparent conflict of interest in being close with James Comey,” Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., who first called for Mueller to step down over the summer, said in a statement to Fox News on Friday. “The appearance of a conflict is enough to put Mueller in violation of the code. … All of the revelations in recent weeks make the case stronger.”

If Mueller can not find any dirt on Trump (and so far all signs are he has not) his fallback plan is to pull a Scooter Libby: He will try to indict Trump and/or his WH staffers on some flimsy perjury or obstruction charge in front of a DC grand jury that voted 91% for Hillary and would gladly indict a ham sandwich if asked.

The problem for Mueller now is that any such flimsy charge that his 16 attorneys cook up is going to be compared to the actual malfeasance of Hillary and the DNC,
including real perjury and obstruction.

Prediction: Mueller will instead give the grand jury DossierGate. The 91% Democrat DC jury will vote for no charges and Hillary and the DNC will skate home free.

Well, whoever initially hired him is, to me, irrelevant. Anybody that survived in position during eight years of Obama purges, is compromised and not to be trusted. Hell, they even got to John Roberts.

This guy remains an Obama "holdover" and appointed somebody as special counsel that is obviously compromised. The only way Mueller does the right thing is so he can cover his own ass.

“Exactly. Mueller pretended to go after Trump, and got the big media playing his game. They gained nothing by it, but lost a lot of viewer confidence. No Mueller is about to turn around and go after the Clintons. That’s why all the media are now saying he has to quit. Because he’s threatening to go after the real facts and tell the truth.

Mueller did no harm to Trump. He distracted the media and put them on a losing trail. So, Fox and WSJ and all the rest of the left wing media are furious at having been deceived like that and put in a position where Hillary is the real suspect.”

You did an even better job than LS does explaining what is probably happening here.

LS has been telling us for months what was probably happening.

He might resign at 5pm today. They usually do it on a Fri after work.

Uranium One is the worst security threat damage in the history of the U.S. Mueller carried the uranium bag himself, and is investigating himself as cities may get nuked over this crime.

This serious treason, should have Clinton & Mueller both wearing the metal hat. Mueller will have to use his authority to pull the lever of the electrocution chamber himself.

The money the Republicans earned by their donors, likely paid off an underground bomb shelter. We the people got burned twice with the second the hot flash of a Hydrogen Bomb.

He’s got a good gig going. Covering up for him and his pals all the while getting paid big $’s for it and having his friends rake in the dough too. I’d love to see him do the right thing but I think he’ll have to be forced out.

If Trump and Sessions are really smart, perhaps this game was long ago planned. Now Sessions can come back as the oversight into the investigation of Mueller and the fake Dossier. Meanwhile, the Mueller crowd thought Trump a moron and have left sloppy details everywhere, all the while under a knowingly watchful eye.

A guy can dream can’t he?

not to be a pessimist, but any time you have more than one person in a ‘group’, there is corruption.

it’s human nature unfortunately.

Read your long tweet thread of yesterday:

https://tttthreads.com/thread/923587253850345478

... sounds interesting... but as an older and wiser American, I cannot remember where there were any political surprises that had an upside for FReepers.

I would call the election of DJT a pleasant development, but not a surprise as you were right on the polling all along. I was following each of both your and Bill Mitchell’s on election night.

WHAT IF YOUR THESIS ON MUELLER IS WRONG?

No sarc. Setting up a special prosecutor was a master stroke by some people who know what it will take to bring some very big name Democrats guilty of major crimes to justice. There cannot be any taint of political prosecution, the country won’t stand for it. So a Democrat friendly prosecutor with a staff heavily composed of Democrats is what is required. And that describes Mueller and his team.

Those who think that Trump, Sessions & company were duped into appointing a special prosecutor are fooling themselves. See if you remember this exchange from the 2nd debate about a year ago; it will sound prophetic:

https://www.nytimes.com/video/us/politics/100000004701741/trump-to-clinton-youd-be-in-jail.html

There are Democrats who believe in the rule of law and who resent their party being captured by traitors and criminals. And some of them just might have been talking with Trump long before he was elected.

I am TICKED OFF (and you never wanna do that, ask my friends!) at (1) the tremendous waste of taxpayer money hiring Mueller and his collection of heavily biased libtard idiots, so perfect for an effective and impartial probe and (2) taking Trump’s time away from actual Presidential duties that we need him to attend to, like building the wall, tax reform, banning illegals from entering the country, terrorism—you know, little trivial things like THAT, compared to the Dummocrap mountain-from-molehill contrived time and money wasting pathetic laughable “charges”.

“Trump hired Mueller to do what job?”

This job:

Trump HIRED Mulehead to do the job.

Any proof of this, or just more of what appears to be crackpot theory? I see you've gathered lots of followers here, but still see no actual evidence of why, other than blind hope I suppose. Unless you're right, which looks doubtful, you're hurting the cause. Mueller has a long history of corruption including delivering Hillary's uranium to Russia, and you're giving him comfort. A lot in fact, now Rosenstein too I see. If they do anything it will be minimal self preservation acts of desperation, based on the evidence so far. Prove me wrong. Thanks.

“Rats never recuse Rats never resign. Never.”

That’s why Trump needs an AG who was not connected to his campaign, and with experience as a Federal Prosecutor.

Then that AG can FIRE Mueller.

And close the farce known as the Russia Investigation.

Or, give it new charter (hear that Fusion and DNC?) and new hard-assed prosecutor.

Excuse me for not having any faith. In the past 25 years the only Fed Gov pol/bureaucrat I can recall being successfully prosecuted was Scooter Libby.

And he did nothing.

Democrats, especially those named Clinton and/or associated with Barack Obama, don’t pay for their crimes.

“I would not be surprised if Mueller is on a mission to find and destroy any evidence of Hellry and Mueller’s criminality.”

Well, if that’s his intention then he’s already failed miserably because a tremendous amount of that evidence is already in the public realm and even more is about to be delivered by the FBI informant and Victoria Toensing.

No, that can’t be it...because the evidence is already there, that’s how we know so much now. Nope, something else entirely is happening here...what it is ain’t exactly clear...as yet.

It pains me to disagree with you guys but I see no actual evidence of Mueller turning in the least. So far it seems limited to a single WSJ article asking him to resign, as if that’s unusual despite Stossell working there, and Panaetta saying something would (not should) be investigated by the Senate. Flimsy, from where I stand, to support such an outlandish theory in my mind. And it’s bothersome because it’s giving Mueller credit for something he doesn’t deserve, and is in fact probably doing what everyone has assumed all along. Has any democrat had their house raided like Manafort?
