NCIS newbie Maria Bello has earned a mixed response after posting a pic of herself prepping for the show while posing with a large gun.
Bello, who debuted on the long-running CBS procedural last week as Special Agent Jack Sloane, shared a photo to Instagram on Monday of herself with boyfriend Elijah Allan-Blitz. Theyre both holding firearms (or replicas), and Bello appears to be brandishing a semi-automatic weapon.
Agent Jack Sloane and sidekick @elijah_a.b gun training for #ncis Thanks Leon!!! Bello wrote. Her message references director of NCIS Leon Vance, played by actor Rocky Carroll.
While a number of fans responded with excitement for what Jack Sloane might be up to, other Instagram users criticized the actress for smiling while holding a gun in the wake of this months Las Vegas shooting. Thats a shameful pic, one individual wrote. Always been a fan, but glamorizing assault weapons after Vegas is clumsy at best, callous at worst. One less fan. Good luck with NCIS.'
There is nothing sexy about anyone holding a gun, wrote another fan.
Yet another commenter chimed in with, Weird timing for posting this.

Just think of the fallout if she had posed with a Bible.
What kind of goofy journalism is that statement?
Is the device actually something else and just 'appears' to be a weapon?
A turkey baster perhaps? A cigarette lighter or a garden rake?
#20. “Hell, hardly anyone uses a gun anymore on NCIS”?
Sounds like a second generation McGiver. The star, who I’ve long forgotten, something like Anderson, said he was opposed to guns so he wouldn’t use them in the show.
I stopped watching after about 10 minutes. Stupid, insipid, wussy.
What is that freaky looking thing with her in the link photo?
From what I have seen, far more liberals smoke that others..
....the writing for that show gas gone down hill...
Might be an urban legend. Richard Dean Anderson used guns all the time on Stargate: SG-1. The character Macgyver was opposed to guns because he accidentally killed a friend with one when they were kids. Henry Winkler was an executive producer and it wouldn’t surprise me if he insisted on the “no guns” policy.
It's a good policy, if one is in showbiz, to either post stuff with a lock on outside comments, or to tell the fake fans to go be fruitful and multiply, just not in those words. Thanks nickcarraway.

What does one thing have to do with the other? People are getting more pathetic everyday!
Had to do a separate search to find a photo of it - proved that the snowflakes get upset about lots of nothing....
I guess Maria’s flavor of the week is boys. She had a major coming out about four years back.
I may start watching the show... I like guns.
Dayam... that’s one sweet gun
I hope they don’t outlaw bump stacks.
She is lesbo but I think I could turn her. ;-)
I'll go one further - actors and actress who have not served, should not be allowed to portray active duty or veteran service members in any television or film media whatsoever.
OK, but I have to go to work.
By the time I return I expect plenty of chics with guns photos.
Come on people, it is Friday.
Strange take, since about everyone in a TV drama has a gun visible on their person somewhere. I mean, in the TV world, you are dirt if you don’t carry a gun to make people fear your presence.
What Gun??? If see a gun...your queer.
