I’ve always known Hollywood despises conservatives. It’s hardly a secret. Lena Dunham, Sean Penn, Scarlett Johansson, Madonna, Whoopie, Stephen Colbert, Robert De Niro, Judd Apatow, Jennifer Lawrence, Rob Reiner. The list is a who’s who of pop culture… and endlessly growing. But I recently sensed a major shift in Tinseltown, and started making some phone calls to see if I was right. “It’s never been worse than it is now,” said a Hollywood veteran who asked not to be named. And why the anonymity? “The big mouths” – major Tinseltown producers are telling studios and networks not to work with anyone associated with Trump.

Welcome to the new #war on the right – Hollywood style.

It dangerous how much Hollywood influences those who know very little about politics. The only politics they are exposed to are the radical ideas in movies and tv shows. Because it is the only politics they — and their friends — see, they all buy into it.

Especially the kids, who are brainwashed by Hollywood, their teachers and the mainstream media. They are like members of a cult who go along with any causes dictated by their leaders without question or logic. They have been brainwashed to not even listen to the ideas of the other side, because the other side is evil.

Hollywood has really lost its luster. The movies are borderline unwatchable and way overpriced; and “entertainment” TV is now so balkanized you hardly know it exists.

If it wasn’t for TCM keeping alive the once great product dominated by the likes of Fred Astaire, Bogart and Ava Gardner, I’m not sure I’d know there is such a thing as “Hollywood.”

I always take my political and social cues from people who need 20 to 30 tries just to recite a line written for them.

Fortunately many of them have Freeper (actual or sympathizer) teachers who don't push the leftist garbage. My experience with teenagers and young adults (my own and my students) is that many of them are gritting their teeth when in the presence of the indoctrinators. When they realize that they're in the presence of someone who honors rational thought and encourages them to think for themselves, many are quite relieved. We don't spend time on politics of the right (it's science class) but we also don't spend time on politics of the left. We go where data lead us. I have colleagues in the building who are also walking an intellectually honest line with the students. Like conservatives everywhere, we are careful what we say and to whom, but we are out there.
