OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The U.S. Senate has confirmed a nominee for judge to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
Sens. James Lankford and Jim Inhofe say the Senate on Thursday voted 79-16 to confirm President Donald Trump's nomination of Scott Palk to the federal bench. Palk is currently the assistant dean of students and assistant general counsel at the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
He was initially nominated by President Barack Obama in 2015, but the nomination was never voted on by the Senate and he was again nominated by President Trump.

Maybe Senators were holding the judges hostage to their pork barrel budget wishes.
Easy enough to find out who voted against the judge.Voting Nay were 16 Senators, all Demonrats:
Blumenthal (D-CT), Cortez Masto (D-NV), Duckworth (D-IL), Feinstein (D-CA), Gillibrand (D-NY), Harris (D-CA), Hirono (D-HI), Markey (D-MA), Merkley (D-OR), Murphy (D-CT), Sanders (I-VT), Schatz (D-HI), Stabenow (D-MI), Van Hollen (D-MD), Warren (D-MA), Wyden (D-OR)
5 not voting:
Booker (D-NJ), Graham (R-SC), Heinrich (D-NM), Menendez (D-NJ), Whitehouse (D-RI)
Menendez (D-NJ) missed the vote because he is on trial for corruption. Graham missed the vote necause he is testifying as a character witness for Senator Menedez(D-NJ).
My guess is that Palk is a “centrist”, as lots of Ds and all RINOs except Graham voted for him.

“About that Oklahoma judge- in 2016, the two Pubbie Senators from Oklahoma persuaded Obama to nominate him and they supported some late Obama appointments in departments I have forgotten. Scott Palk, a Dean at Oklahoma state University, is conservative, but not controversial or political. That sort of thing happens in every Presidency. . “
