It took them another half hour to arrive over the battlefield, around 110 miles to the north.

How does it take fighters 30 minutes to go 110 miles? Top speed 220MPH?

You mirrored my though...and they couldn’t drop their bombs. This sounds like an example of why we need to keep the A-10’s.

Another question would be why the drone monitoring the situation didn't have offensive capabilities. Part of the reason being there is to build a drone base to conduct combat operations. Yet, we weren't suing such a drone at the time.

And a half hour to scramble? And an hour to call it in?

Smells.

Then they could not engage the targets?

Good thing they were on ready alert status otherwise it might have taken them another 4 hours.

suit up, arm/load up, safety/systems check, start up, all takes a little time. At least they were not in bengazi.

Top speed of the Mirage 2000 at low altitude is under 700mph.

If you took off for a 110 mile trip, you probably wouldn’t try to get up to high altitude.

Given dispatch time, a 30 minute response doesn’t sound too unreasonable.

You don’t get up to speed instantly. Plus you have to climb and descend and also scope out the area before you come in low. Everything takes time.
