Democratic candidates lead by 15 points in a hypothetical matchup for the 2018 midterm elections, according to a new Fox News poll.

In the survey, 50 percent of respondents said that if the election for Congress were held today, they would vote for the Democratic candidate. Only 35 percent said they would vote for a Republican.

About a year ago, the same question showed voters evenly split, with 45 percent saying they would vote for a Democrat, and 45 percent saying they would vote Republican.

Yeh I’m not buying that. The Dems are basically in disarray right now.

Rahm Emmanuel engineered their takeover in ‘06 by recruiting centrist-leaning candidates to run in “red” districts.

This is no longer possible. The Dem Party has radicalized itself to the point that it’s base will never allow them to run such candidates ANYWHERE.

There are no blue dog democrats left to win.. Dems cannot win outside of the geographical regions they already dominate... Urban Centers and the coasts, they have no chance of unseating any reasonable republican.

The only way Democrats win big, is for Republicans to eff up... I definitely see the Senate republicans in particular EFFING up right now... but they will be primaried and taken out Just like Corker and Flake more likely than losing to a Dem in the general.

If anything I think you will see a lot of MAGA candidates show up to challenge sitting Dems in purple districts, bolstered by Trumps win and Bannons willingness to spend to back MAGA candidates.

History says the opposing party gains seats in the Mid Terms...generally.. but I don’t see any groundswell for Dems, and i sure as hell guarantee if they run on a “IMPEACHMENT” platform, they will get absolutely SLAUGHTERED everywhere except the bluest of blue districts.

Oh, my what special Faux poll juice. This is in no way bad. It says, “Who wants to be an anti-Trump Republican?” It reflects that the establishment is frightened to death because they have been tone deaf and will be primaried. They can either ride the Trump Train or they can walk home. Of course the leftward adjustment in how the sample was derived kind of begs the question.

And soon, Laura Ingraham. Prime time, the only times to watch FNC.

Then, why is Ed Gillespie ahead in the latest poll in Virginia by eight and Roy Moore ahead by double digits in Alabama?

The polls have been skewed (oversampling Democrats, for example) and inaccurate for at least two election cycles.

There’s only one poll showing Gillespie up. The vast majority show a substantial Northam lead.

Those projections are silly and mostly meaningless. The polls were a lot closer.

Actually, he's been ahead in two of the last four polls.

And, have you not be paying attention to how much the polls have been skewed for Democrats that last two election cycles?

Yes, but to be sure, polls should oversample Dems to a degree because there are more self identified Dems than GOP.

We do have two big elections next week in Virginia and New Jersey. Virginia also has a lot of state run races that we need to win. I can just imagine the MSNBCABCCBS crap that will be shouted if the Democrats win both states. It would be awful.

Agree. Seems like Dems are a Lock in New Jersey. Northam seems heavily favored in VA, but Gillespie maybe has a little momentum. Just hope GOP can win VA.
