Until there’s a way to protect the population in and around Seoul, this is meaningless saber rattling. We aren’t gonna do jack and the Norks know it. My tune will change if it’s ever announced that we’re back in the neutron bomb business and willing to use them in a swath across the Nork artillery positions.
I hope all three carriers have been purged of Obama ideologues.

I just hope no container ships or tankers are running around in the same ocean.
With what? A carrier today has just a few escorts, maybe 3 or 4 ships. On paper 8 helicopters for ASW, in reality half that.
They might have an SSN too, then again maybe not...We've been coasting on the fumes of the Reagan navy buildup for a long time.
Exactly what would you require of a carrier strike group beyond the usual cruiser, 1-2 destroyers/frigates, 1-2 nuclear attack submarines, and a full complement of aircraft? We have 11 such CVBGs, and the rest of the world has only 10 combined... and I'm thinking that Italy, India, Egypt, Spain, Thailand, and South Korea all have battle groups juuuuuuust a bit less impressive than our.
So again, what more would you require of each group, above and beyond a CVN, a CG, 2 DDs, 2 SSNs, and 75 F-18s? What exactly do you expect them to be matched against? Should the entire US Navy sail together as a single group?

ASW is almost gone. There are no more S-3 Vikings. FFG's are gone. It's up to MH-60 helicopters.
On paper they are supposed to have an SSN to help with ASW but there are not enough to go around.
F-18's aren't going to help much unless a sub decides to surface...
Must be some high-strength steel on that gangplank (gangway?).
And some P-8’s, possibly if we’re allowed runways, which I would think Japan and/or ROK would provide.
Also nice to see that the fat bastard hasn’t missed any meals, even if his countrymen are not so slowly starving to death.

Japan has dozens of P-3's which I'm sure would see lots of use if a North Korean mini sub plinks a torpedo in the side of a carrier.
After it plinks though...I haven't seen any news of P-3 or P-8 deployments to Japan by the USN.
Okinawa has loads of em.
I was thinking.. wow three navy ships in the pacific and they haven’t “ hit” anything yet. Must be your bumpers.
