not sure what ya mean by ‘did some pork’? But yeah he’s pretty conservative- He’s got a new show- called “The Lowe Files”- might be over with now- but it was pretty funny- he looks for extra terrestrials, ghosts, big foot etc-
He was a punk——he’s rich, getting old, and is no longer a punk.
Hardly a role model.
.
I totally despised the song “Magnet and Steel” by Walter Egan when it first came out and every time it came on in later years. After hearing it on “Booogie Nights,” I now like it.
I like his movies, but he he did wrong more than once, injuring people. He became rich & famous a few years later now makes big show about being holy. Not sure I buy it.
“I dont remember a movie of his that I didnt enjoy on some level.”
Here’s a ranking of Wahlburg’s movies. I saw the top three, all excellent. I didn’t care for Ted. Too crude and silly for my tastes.

Actually Heather Graham suffered the most long term psychological damage from her participation in “Boogie Nights”.
Great guy, love the wisdom. I really feel we should up the age of the Presidency to 50 simply based on increased life span of the average human.
Very good man, I have a thirteen year old daughter, amen:

Thanks, Doughty! All the best to you and yours. :)
“Lone Survivor” was a tremendously movie film about our brave Special Ops troops in Afghanistan (and Iraq, and now Niger, etc).
It showed the dedication to the cause of freedom, brotherhood, and sacrifice.
It is, like “Zero Dark Thirty”, a great visual dedication to our servicemen and women.
it is so funny...that director really nailed that “era”....just hilarious.
We usually agree on things, Mears; you may well be right. Never met the guy, so I don't know. Though lots of young men act like idiots when they are, well, young. :)
People usually get smarter/have more wisdom as they age. ;)
Too bad our bodies have to age with our brains and conscience. ;)
Take care, FRiend. :)
i heard every A list actor wanted in on this movie....
i know that Tom Lange was the lead detective on the Wonderland murders...and OJ Simpson....

I know,I raised three of them but Walburg was a drug user and was violent-————not just adolescent idiocy.
.
I don’t think it really matters whether you buy it or not.
Didn’t even know Wahlberg was conservative! Very pleasing to hear since I always enjoy his movies. I even loved The Gambler, even though it seemed to not get good reviews, probably because my undergraduate degree is in English and I thought about becoming an English professor like he is in the film.
Late to the thread, but I have to say I’m impressed by the comments here. The Left constantly obsesses about conservatives as if we were buckle-hatted Puritans ready to put the blasphemers in the stocks. “Boogie Nights” is a perfect movie for its era, looking back on another, not very far distant era. It’s provocative, no doubt, funny and sad at will. Very smart about what it is to be human, good and bad. This is a very good thread. That was a very good movie.
My favorite song from “Boogie Nights” is “Driver’s Seat” by Sniff ‘n’ the Tears. I actually consider that song to be one of the greatest “One Hit Wonders” of all time.

I can’t let go of the metric system thread.
If we used the metric system, even the most bashful young freeper could brag in a bar at closing time to a beer-goggled miss,
“Dirk Diggler? Pshaw! I’m packing 11+
(muttering under his breath “centimeters”).”
