Hollywood film star Mark Wahlberg said that the film “Boogie Nights” is at the top of the list of movies he has asked God’s forgiveness for at a youth event hosted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago last Friday.

The 1997 hit film, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, featured Wahlberg as porn star Dirk Diggler, and earned several Academy Awards nominations.

Last December, the film star made headlines when he publicly chided “out of touch” Hollywood celebrities who were dissing Donald Trump before the presidential elections, urging them to stick to acting.

Me: Or what MFer?? Turned around and slowly walked away.Pretty darn brave, IMO. :)

When I was in Toronto a couple of years ago, I was eating outside at a cafe and some homeless guy came up and started harassing me for money. I turned to him and said, "Why don't you get a job?"

(He was perfectly healthy from the looks of him, btw.)

He walked back to me and said, "What did you say to me?" I said, "Try getting a job."

The guy spit on the food that I had just paid $20 for. Some of his saliva landed on my face and I could not wash it enough, LOL.

There is a major culture of entitlement in North America and it was not always like this.

Walburg was a drug user and was violent

I did not know that.

Well, I am glad to hear he has turned his life around. Thanks, Mears. :)

. I really feel we should up the age of the Presidency to 50 simply based on increased life span of the average human.

That is an excellent point. But I think it would be a very complicated thing to do, in terms of changing the Constitution.

Anyway, in today's world, it takes time to establish connections, raise $$, etc., to run for president. Most 35 year-olds can't do it by then.

And I'm not sure Americans would trust a young'un ;) to run the country. :)

For some FReepers, this post may remember taking us off to FReeper Island. ;) (where you get completely off-track. Sorry! ;) )

My S in L’s nieces saw them at the Boston Garden, must have been around 1990.
I remember them all screaming about Marky Mark. Other than that one week or two, I had no flipping clue who any of them were.
My husband was heartless in his teasing all of them, he too was clueless...just thought the name was funny.

I can’t let go of the metric system thread.
If we used the metric system, even the most bashful young freeper could brag in a bar at closing time to a beer-goggled miss,
“Dirk Diggler? Pshaw! I’m packing 11+
(muttering under his breath “centimeters”).”

LOL!!! Post of the century. ;)

Lived here for over 15 years and still cannot get used to this stupid metric system. :)

God’s Son has already paid the price for forgiveness by the only thing that would atone for sin, His blood.

If this actor, asked God to forgive him for his sins, based on the sacrifice of Christ, then he has been forgiven.

Truer words were never spoken, FRiend. Jesus Christ paid for our sins, at the request of his Father. At great pain.
