Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias “vigorously” denied his involvement in the anti-Trump dossier that has made up the substance of the Russian collusion allegations, New York Times reporter Ken Vogel said.
Elias’ denial appears to have been intentionally misleading in light of new reporting from The Washington Post that Elias hired opposition research firm Fusion GPS on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Elias reportedly hired Fusion to dig up dirt on Trump as part of a project that became the Trump dossier. (RELATED: Clinton Campaign And DNC Funded Trump Dossier)
“When I tried to report this story,” Vogel said of the Post report, “Clinton campaign lawyer [Marc Elias] pushed back vigorously, saying ‘You (or your sources) are wrong.'”
Another NYT reporter, Maggie Haberman, similarly accused Democrats of sanctimoniously lying about their funding of the Trump dossier.
“Folks involved in funding this lied about it, and with sanctimony, for a year,” Haberman wrote on Twitter, linking to the Post’s report.
The Clinton campaign and the DNC reportedly took over funding Fusion GPS in April 2016. A still-unknown Republican donor initially began funding the opposition research firm’s investigation of Trump up until that point.

I’d also like to know how much was paid to Fusion. I can see their defense being it was just opposition research and they didn’t know it was all fabricated.
Haven’t seen anything here on FR yet, (haven’t been home long) but on the way home the top of the hour news was saying that the administration was currently working a deal to release the Russia FBI informant from that gag order.

Hope that informant is sleeping on the sofa in Trump’s bedroom to be safe from the murder squad.
When Trump was elected, he tried the olive branch - (paraphrase) leave the Clintons alone, they’ve been through enough.
But Hillary just couldn’t stop throwing ashtrays, and I think Trump finally got fed up.
IMO, what we’re seeing now is Trump taking off the gloves.
Watch over the next few days for GPS Fusion to argue in court that the Congressional subpoena of bank records should be quashed because Perkins-Coie has admitted being the conduit for the Hillary/DNC sponsorship and payments for the dossier. They’ll say that the subpoena would render their business major harm for no purpose.
1) There is something in those bank records they want to keep hidden.
2) Hillary and the DNC consider it more damaging than admitting Hillary commissioned the dossier-related witch hunt.
Stopping the bank records from being released would be a major blow to the emerging truth.
