He is setting himself up for 2024.
He'd have to go as a Dem (willing to mimic aspects of Trump to defeat Trumpism) or more likely a Perot-style Independent, combining the left, those who can't stomach Trump's persona, and Never-Trumpers of socially left variety in a three way race.
I don't think that would work against Pence.

IMO Harris the not natural born citizen, is a lock for 2024 for the dems. If trump stays hot she won’t run in 2020. The re-pubs will need a candidate. My dream of making the re-piubs the small third party could come to fruition if the congress keeps up their BS.
