A bomb scare shut down a Planned Parenthood clinic in Southern California on Saturday morning, but no people were injured.
After Planned Parenthood employees notified the police of an odd-looking device sitting outside their office in Whittier, Calif., the Whittier police force and the Los Angeles County Sheriff Departments bomb squad determined the device was simply a pipe with wires sticking out, reported the Whittier Daily News.
The bomb squad blew up the device with a remote-controlled robot and declared the premise was safe for those who had evacuated to return around 1p.m. local time.
Police have no leads and are asking anyone with information to come forward. The police are looking into camera surveillance to hopefully be able to identify a suspect, according the local news source.
The scare comes after Planned Parenthood celebrated the organizations 101st birthday less than a week ago.
Planned Parenthood has not released any official statement about the fake bomb.
Fund raising tactic?
Bomb Scare Shuts Down Planned Parenthood Clinic lives saved.
Yes, true, because their normal processes were shut down.
The police “blew it up” is an ambiguous phrase. Was it explosive, or did they blast some inert object to pieces?
the PP people planted the darn thing, just trying to whip up to financial support.
Suspicious for certain, because I would think a real terrorist would be more effective.
Yep, but accidents do happen I suppose.
I think they did it to themselves, though
Bomb threats are illegal. Someone should “accidently” drop one of those mercury light bulbs in the lobby just before the baby killing begins each day.
Actually it was a package left by UPS, the driver refusing to enter hell, which contained boxes for shipping body parts.
In the absence of more evidence, I believe this to be false-flag attack, intended to help the Democrat party and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Planned Butcherhood.
