A potential coalition party, the Freedom and Direct Democracy Party is currently in second, with 11.4 percent. The party has a lot in common with the ANO Party.
Depending on how many other parties cross the 5 percent threshold for representation in the Czech parliament, these two parties might not need any other partners.
Will he check EU privilege?
better question;
will he revert to his communist past?
and how are the Pirates doing ??
On the back nine these days.
So is Babis a Trump ...
or a Bloomburg ??
With 90 percent of the votes counted:
ANO 30.4 ***
Freedom and Direct Democracy 11.0 ***
Civic Democrats 10.9 ***
Pirates 10.3 **
Communists 8.1 **
Socialists 7.5 **
Christian Democrats 5.9 *
Mayors 5.1 *
TOP 4.7 (doesn’t qualify) *
*** eurosceptic to various degrees, also centrist, populist and/or center-right
** various degrees of left
* pro-EU, centrist to center-right
Being a Bond fan, I would have liked a coalition of ANO and TOP, but that’s not going to happen. ANO will need two partners. Freedom and Direct Democracy and the Civic Democrats are the obvious choices.
This is ANOTHER big, smashing victory for our side, coming on the heels of the election in Austria.
Tomorrow, parliamentary elections in Japan and Congressional elections in Argentina.
Ouch. More on him plrase. Communist?
Please. Sorry.
With 99.6 percent of the vote counted:
ANO 78 seats (out of 200) ***
Civic Democrats 25 ***
Freedom and Direct Democracy 22 ***
Pirates 22 **
Communists 15 **
Socialists 15 **
Christian Democrats 10 *
TOP 7 *
Mayors 6 *
*** eurosceptic to various degrees, also centrist, populist and/or center-right
** various degrees of left
* pro-EU, centrist to center-right
With 78 seats, ANO is in a very strong position to form a ruling coalition even though some potential partners have said they wouldn’t join a coalition headed up by Babis.
Some think he only spouted what the people wanted to hear.
imagine that!
His background before the velvet rev. seems suspicious
