Theresa May’s Deputy Is Worried About MPs Being Murdered Over ‘Fake News’, While...

Prime Minister Theresa May’s second-in-charge, Damian Green MP, hit out at Breitbart News this week insisting that “fake news” and “increasing hatred” could lead to the assassination of another Member of Parliament, following the murder of Jo Cox on the run up to the Brexit referendum.

How stupid does Green think we are?

When there’s an Islamic terrorist, we’re told we have to consider “mental health” factors, but when Thomas Mair — an actual mental health sufferer — murders an MP, we are supposed to accept it outright as domestic terrorism?

Of course Mair committed a terrorist act, but he was also an actual mental health sufferer who even asked for extra care just days before he flipped and killed Ms. Cox. Green’s successive Conservative governments have done little to improve access to care for mental health sufferers, by the way.

And the last time I checked, no one had ever claimed Mair was a Breitbart reader either. He wasn’t. Mr. Green’s conflation between these two unrelated incidents reveal his willingness to use the death of a young woman to pursue state censorship, very similar to what the hard-left did in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

Meanwhile, CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, Yahoo, etc. pump and pimp fake news all day long; every day.

The lies Yahoo tells - HuffPo is one of their favorite sources.

They’re trying to overthrow the U.S. Presidency with 24/7 lies.

Not that any of us are surprised.

May is the definition of mediocrity, like so many of the UK’s recent PMs.

Sad but true. Is a great song title.

Also the phrase about those who do not learn from history or doomed to repeat it, although not ‘perfect’ is very accurate.

If one looks to history, one can find accusations against the press, W.R. Hearst and J. Pulitzer declaring them to be warmongers.

Historians infer that the ‘Spanish/American War’ may have, at least in some ways, been the result of wealthy men in charge of information dissemination to the masses, conflating the little stories into big ones to sell newspapers and in the end control the masses.

Now regarding the press being possibly responsible for assassinations, I submit the follow from Wikipedia on ‘Yellow Journalism’.

“Hearst was a leading Democrat who promoted William Jennings Bryan for president in 1896 and 1900. He later ran for mayor and governor and even sought the presidential nomination, but lost much of his personal prestige when outrage exploded in 1901 after columnist Ambrose Bierce (author of the Devil’s Dictionary) and editor Arthur Brisbane published separate columns months apart that suggested the assassination of William McKinley. When McKinley was shot on September 6, 1901, critics accused Hearst’s Yellow Journalism of driving Leon Czolgosz to the deed. Hearst did not know of Bierce’s column, and claimed to have pulled Brisbane’s after it ran in a first edition, but the incident would haunt him for the rest of his life, and all but destroyed his presidential ambitions.”

Dr Frank L Mott, was a Pulitzer winning journalism professor who spoke out against the unethical practices of the publishing/newspaper industry. He outlined what is ‘Yellow Journalism’ (which by the way is known as ‘Tabloid News’ in the UK).

The writings of Edward Barneys are very influential in this industry, a simple essay one can review is entitled ‘The Engineering of Consent’ by Barneys. However the more recent writing, “The Political Economy of the Mass Media” (1988), by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky, is also very telling and includes ideas from the author of ‘Public Opinion’, Walter Lippman (1922)

In conclusion the point is ‘Yellow Journalism’ or ‘Fake News’ as it is known today is more alive today then it ever was. The MSM is not honest or ethical and they are competing for your dollars and minds.

Hows that on one cup of coffee.

Breitbart has some amazing writers. Mr. Kassam takes it directly to the smug pols. Soon they will label such criticism as ‘hate speech and heavily fine or ban it completely.

On the subject of banning and fining so-called ‘hate speech”, don’t miss this item.
