After performing the national anthem at Friday night's Brooklyn Nets game, singer Justine Skye took a knee in the latest installment of the ongoing demonstration.
Skye knelt specifically during the line "and the home of the brave," according to reports.
However, according to the Associated Press, the demonstration wasn't well received among fans. Skye reportedly received more boos than cheers for her stunt.
Shortly after her performance at the Nets' home opening game, Skye posted on Instagram a clip of her kneeling with the caption, "Got a bit shaky at the end.. was pretty uneasy about singing the anthem and probably won't ever be invited to sing it again but I had to take a knee for the opening game in my city and let my voice be heard. We will not be silenced #blacklivesmatter."
The singer's actions come after weeks of national controversy over a handful of NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem in protest. President Trump has repeatedly voiced his disdain for the act.
Yes, lets not ever address the elephant in the room.
Blacks killing other blacks by the bushel and “thug culture” worship.
Im living without the NFL. I would give up on the NBA but I already did that decades ago.
Is there ANY reporter or interviewer honest enough to ask ANY of these dweebs what the actual statistics of these shootings are? Or ask them if they (the dweeb) have ever undergone or even watched a training session to better understand being in these sorts of situations (police shootings)?
Police are humans - occasionally there will be mistakes, or there will be instances where training was poor, or even instances where maybe someone should not really be / have been a LEO. I’ve argued some of those on these threads. But, the statistics say this is NOT some sort of pervasive racism — if anything, the racism in shootings goes the other way.
Maybe the police unions should spend a few $$ and run some pertinent ads...
She’s probably right. Wont be doing the national anthem at event for some time.

Maybe the police should go work in a better town and let these balls of excrement flow down their own sewer!

Dunce!

They still think WE own the plantation and it's OUR responsibility to take care of them.
They are WRONG. The black community needs to solve their own problems and take care of themselves. Democrats might see them as pets or charges but we don't. We see them as adults...
Black NFL players need to go kneel in front of the Democrat Party Office...
Exactly. All of these people are entertainers. Nothing more. Once the masses realize this and stop supporting them financially, they will go back to what there were, nothing but entertainers for our amusement/entertainment. Unfortunately, we have millions of people who support them and give them their platform.
“More boos than cheers” LMAO
(”That’s raciss!”)
In case you want to contact the Nets and let them know you won’t attend any games sung-in by drama queen Skye:

I don’t do any of those things, FB, pin interest, tweet, etc. but I’m sick of this grandstanding BS by our perpetually aggrieved class.
Why doesn’t somebody just tell him he is a stupid shit?
Moron. Just do not sing it. Give another the honor.
Well, I’m SURE entertainers and professional athletes are chosen for their high intellects.
Singing on one knee has such a robust reputation in the black community...
she can now take a knee before Mugabe and Zimbabwe’s pre-soccer-game executions.
It's a she, sorta. Not a he. And guess what race? In the article, she says it was because of BLM.
As someone else pointed out, while black lives matter, RACIST black lives do not...
Someone needs to publish a running blacklist of these performers. None should perform the anthem again.
