What do you want done with your body after you die?
It is an unnerving but important question, and for most Americans there have long been only two obvious choices: burial or cremation.
But a third option, a liquefaction process called by a variety of names flameless cremation, green cremation or the Fire to Water method is starting to gain popularity throughout the United States.
This week, California became the 15th state to outline commercial regulations for the disposal of human remains through the method, chemically known as alkaline hydrolysis.
It may seem markedly different from the traditional means of digging graves or burning the dead. A machine uses a chemical bath to dissolve protein, blood and fat, leaving only a coffee-colored liquid, powdery bone and any metal implants, like dental fillings.

So, that's how Starbuck's does it.
But first they scorch it to give it the Starbucks flavor.
I think that the cartels do it to people while they are still alive.
I remember seeing a meme that said, “Hey, there’s a third option, who knew? Below that was a hearse towing a wood chipper.
My kids have my instructions. Throw me on a stack of pallets and use lighter fluid. Bring marshmallows. Spend less than $50.
U: I THINK WE'VE GOT AN EATER!
F: (offstage) I'll get the oven on!
M: Um, er...excuse me, um, are you... are you suggesting eating my mother?
(pause)
U: Yeah. Not raw, cooked!
M: What?
U:Roasted with a few french fries, broccoli, horseradish sauce ...
M: Well, I do feel a bit peckish.
U: Great!
M: Can we have some parsnips?
U: (calling) Fred - get some parsnips.
M: I really don't think I should.
U: Look, tell you what, we'll eat her, if you feel a bit guilty about it afterwards, we can dig a grave and you can throw up in it.
Some would likely have a higher percentage of fertilizer than others.
I ask my wife to securely tie a ham bone to my ankle; let the coyotes drag me away.
She does not approve of this procedure.
They need to see the abnormal too.
You may be something special.

...AGA transports the body to a medical school for use in gross anatomy class and student dissection.
The medical school keeps the body for at least two years, although the period of study might be longer in some cases....
No thanks, I’ll stick with standard Cremation by fire. Both my wife and myself have decided to go The Cremation route. We both believe that the whole business of the funeral industry is a racket. They prey on the sorrow of the families of the deceased and charge absolutely ridiculous prices for a casket which can be upwards of $15,000 which is going to be buried in the ground and then the wake and then the funeral. I mean really who enjoys going to look at a dead body?
They try to tell you that it’s all about closure. They try to tell you that the relatives and friends would like to pay their last respects. While all this can be done without looking at the body without spending upwards of $15,000 for a box without paying for a funeral without standing around listening to people talk about the deceased. Memorial service followed by a get together perhaps at a local restaurant or the home of a relative of the deceased can take care of ALL of the above.
It is all a racket intent on praying on the emotions of the surviving family.
I’m with you. Quick, cheap, and get on with it. I’ve lived my life, don’t hang around here, go out and live yours.
Praying s/b preying.
Voice to text needs work.
“...with standard Cremation by fire.with standard Cremation by fire... I mean really who enjoys going to look at a dead body?...”
In school in the 1970’s we learned about funeral pyres. We were horrified at the thought of desecrating the body like that.
Since the beginning of records, we buried our dead. Reverence was shown to the human body. It did us good to see the body laid out. To touch a corpse’s hand made death real.
I don’t know if it’s because of abortion, but there is growing disrespect for life, let alone respect for the human body.
Now I believe that the Lord will raise the dead. I know our soul is what matters, but I hope to keep my body intact, and be buried.
It’s so quick and easy to cremate a body. Dead and gone. Even have a “pot luck” memorial at the local bar or park.
There isn’t even reverence for the ashes. Cremation isn’t biblical for all you evangelists.
While I fully respect your beliefs, they are not mine.
My belief is at the moment of death the soul, that which is all we were, departs the body. What is left is a shell which will decompose and return to the earth.
The Bible is silent on the subject.

keep saying, if it isn’t in the Bible....
Cremation is NOT biblical. Even Jesus was buried in a tomb. Burial of the body IS biblical. Cremation is not biblical
I'm still trying to figure out how it ate through the tile, the subfloor, all of the joists, and the sheetrock but didn't then go on through the main floor into the basement.
The Bible does indeed have a lot to say about cremation.

No part of our biological, corrupt bodies will enter the Kingdom of Yehova.
Yeshua told Nicodemus we must be born again as literal “Sons of Yehova.” That means a special individual creation.
The Watchers are “Sons of Yehova.” A son of Yehova has no parentage but Yehova.
