The two most recent presidents on Thursday blasted the state of US politics in events that were separated by less than 20 miles.
First, it was former President George W. Bush. The most recent former Republican president lambasted a political culture that caused "bigotry" to seem "emboldened." The public comments were Bush's most pointed since President Donald Trump took office in January.
"In recent decades, public confidence in our institutions has declined," the 43rd president said at an event in New York hosted by his namesake institute. "Our governing class has often been paralyzed in the face of obvious and pressing needs. The American dream of upward mobility seems out of reach for some who feel left behind in a changing economy. Discontent deepened and sharpened partisan conflicts. Bigotry seems emboldened. Our politics seems more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication."
The forum was branded as being "focused on freedom, free markets, and security." It featured speakers such as former first lady Laura Bush, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley. And Bush provided a substantial condemnation of the state of US politics.

Both G.W. Bush and his father, George Herbert Walker Bush, double crossed Israel.
George HW Bush had James Baker as his Secretary of State - a man who hated Israel and the Jews with a venom that is hard for many to contemplate, even now. At the 1991 Madrid Conference, the "road map for peace" was forced on Israel, which led to the Clinton Oslo "peace" accord - and both of them punished Israel severely. All Israel got in return were loan guarantees and weak statements of "recognition" from her enemies, which were nothing but lies.
Here was a younger Bibi Netnanyahu in Madrid, doing his best to fight for his nation against such an onslaught:
GW Bush also forced Israel to give up land in exchange for "peace." The withdrawal from Gaza was a tragedy and mistake for Israel of epic proportions.
An interesting bit of history: immediately after George HW Bush sold out Israel, the "Perfect Storm" struck the US, and Bush's own Kennebunk ME home was heavily damaged by it.
After GW Bush sold out Israel, Hurricane Katrina struck the United States.
God does not take kindly to those who mess with Israel, and His land.
That girl’s red hair on that gif you posted is stunning. What a lovely creature.
I would also say that 911 was a result of an indication by GW Bush that he would adopt and agree with a language putting Israel as a “problem” requiring a “solution”. I remember him doing something to Israel a couple
months before that drea oposktion from conservative jews. Al Qaeda was not like ISIS kalifatic, but much more ideological on claiming to attack America because of our support of Israel against muslims. This AQ 911 language made in blood was , imo, a direct result of GW Bush appeasing islamists and giving them the rhetoric that Israel was a problem, imo
GLDNGUNs comment, from related thread, bears repeating.....
Just a coincidence that on THE day the REAL Russian meddling news come out that BOTH Bush and Obama come out of the woodwork to take down Trump?
No, I dont think so.
If the Donald can restore this country his image should be carved into Mt. EVEREST.
and Obama:
PING!
This is just more fakr news by the MSM.
I read the actual text of Bush; speech and it is NOT a criticism of Trump.
_______________
So, FoxNews is MSM, now? They ran this story throughout the day and evening, making the same claim as this article/thread - playing clips as reference.
I don’t think you can call Obama a traitor, a traitor is a turncoat, Obama was NEVER ON OUR SIDE.
Just a little refresher about GW — he maliciously slandered the Minutemen. He’s an open borders CREEP.
I wanted to think the best in that man, but this tears it!
He’s a CREEP! Just like Jeb. Only more slithery.
GW’s Total Information Awareness Program (TIA)

[Back when this happened, GW let Admiral Poindexter be his scapegoat, and Dubb’ya slithered off into the tall grass. But he was President. He wanted to snoop on us while defending Open Borders at the same time. That was brazen hypocracy. And he snooped on us anyway which is why Team Trump now endures witch hunts. GW helped build the machinery.]
I read the transcript. If you cannot see that Bushs speech was a slap at President Trump you are sorely mistaken. He claims Nativism is hate, Globalism is good. He says Bigotry is running amok. And on, and on.
He basically called Trump a Nazi by using the term “blood and soil.”
Mount Everest?
Tell me how you really feel!
Then why didn't he make this speech when Obama was in the White House.
“I think W made a good point: Bigotry seems emboldened. The blatant bigotry of BLM is like nothing Ive ever seen.”
— SomeCallMeTim [Post 50]
[Well said!]
In Post 171 I remind everyone about GW’s TIA [Total Information Awareness] Program. The hypocracy is astounding since GW was also for open borders at the same time [which would allow anyone to invisibly enter the US with any kind of WMD].
“Then why didn’t he make this speech when Obama was in the White House.”
Because GW thinks anyone who wants safe borders is a racist ‘vigilante’ like the Minutemen.
