Three Maine roofers put their hammers down and stood up to show respect for the national anthem on Saturday, in the process unknowingly posing for a photo that's been used to symbolize one side of the contentious nationwide debate about "The Star-Spangled Banner."
The roofers, who were working near Waterville High Schools football field, stood for the national anthem even though they didnt have to, Michelle Lyons Cossar, the Old Town resident who snapped the photo, told Fox News on Monday.
While Cossar was standing for the anthem prior to the start of Saturdays game, she said she heard someone in the stands point out the workers had also risen.

Patriotism is a Maine Thing - we’re old fashioned that way...

What do roofers in Texas look like?
I saw this on Fox.

YUP.
Good catch!

Odds are pretty good that they don’t play professional football.
The same way they look in Florida. Short. Brown all over. Plus they don't speak Ingleesh.
Oh, you mean like Minnesota?
How do you know they are legal? I live in a place where Americans do the jobs Americans are no longer doing and still encounter illegal alien roofers all over.
She was thinking of the rest of America that would love to see this. I’m sure it only took a few seconds time out.
Cool.
