Congress created the refuge in 1977. It left the possibility open for drilling in a small area on the coast

Cry me a river. Sen. Malarkey along with other Dems have been in the pockets of the enviro-nazis forever and ignore that provision in the original bill.

Did they call ANWR “pristine”??

I recall previous debates on this issue, where liberal after liberal trotted out and declared that the “pristine” Arctic National Wildlife Refuge should be off limits.

Which reminds us all how talking points are handed out, and how the Journolist people are still at it, behind the scenes.

Senate Democrats are planning an amendment to stop the GOP from using the budget process to more easily allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

ANWR is about as big as SC. Where they want to drill is about as big as JFK Airport.

Yep, that’s the favorite buzzword of the Rats when they argue about ANWR and we can bet that they’ll use it when they act on this.

There is nothing pristine about Alaska. Evidence of human occupation, enterprise and exploitation is everywhere. It just looks pristine compared to the crowded and filthy lower 48.

Barry's action on ANWR came pretty late in his presidency, and as for other areas...

Obama’s Offshore Drilling Ban Is ‘Largely Symbolic,’ at Least for Now

ANWR gets a mention.

And the ‘Rats haven’t been having a cow about off shore drilling, some of it pretty darn close to shore.

I imagine that Democrats who watch Gold Rush must need heavy Medication while viewing it.

Bulldozers tearing apart pristine Mother Earth to get to the Evil Gold. Heartless Miners making Millions. Tony B cussing.

It must be hell on earth.

I would sell 1,000 year transferable leases to the entire national reserve while we have the power to do so!

I agree 100% with your statement.

In fact, I am keeping up with a program called "The Last Alaskans" and this show happens in ANWAR, Alaska.

There are only 7 families that live full time in cabins in ANWAR. They are one tough bunch of folks!!! They love being free to live on this land.

The families that live here will die off since the Congress passed a bill in 1980 during the Jimmah Carter years that no one else will live in Anwar until the last son or daughter die of the parents who live there now.

They make their money by trapping and selling the furs.

They have to hunt for all their food and they have to build their own cabins.

You have to love folks that live here in ANWAR.

Yes, the drilling will be away from these folks and at least they will get to see other folks.

President Trump needs to look into why this bill was passed in Congress in 1980. Is this another Swamp critter.
