Congress created the refuge in 1977. It left the possibility open for drilling in a small area on the coast

Cry me a river. Sen. Malarkey along with other Dems have been in the pockets of the enviro-nazis forever and ignore that provision in the original bill.

Did they call ANWR “pristine”??

I recall previous debates on this issue, where liberal after liberal trotted out and declared that the “pristine” Arctic National Wildlife Refuge should be off limits.

Which reminds us all how talking points are handed out, and how the Journolist people are still at it, behind the scenes.

Senate Democrats are planning an amendment to stop the GOP from using the budget process to more easily allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

ANWR is about as big as SC. Where they want to drill is about as big as JFK Airport.

I imagine that Democrats who watch Gold Rush must need heavy Medication while viewing it.

Bulldozers tearing apart pristine Mother Earth to get to the Evil Gold. Heartless Miners making Millions. Tony B cussing.

It must be hell on earth.

I would sell 1,000 year transferable leases to the entire national reserve while we have the power to do so!

““This is exactly the kind of polarizing politics we need to get away from — giveaways to big oil and billionaires at the expense of the American people and our planet”

Okay, what is drilling in Alaska doing to the planet? He made the comment, but never gave an example.

I’ve been to the higher source of the pipeline near Fairbanks, and listened to talks on the subject. The only thing they could come up with was the caribou. And how it was cutting them off from their migration so they were killing calves. Funny thing is, during the winter months when it is cold and the calving is done, the line has heaters in it and the cows are calving right next to the pipeline. And the mortality rate is getting less as more calves are surviving. So much for that lie. And as for the companies getting rich on it, a vast majority of it is flagged at Valdez and sold and shipped to Japan for them to refine it and we buy it back at a loss to save Japans destroyed economy. So much for that lie.

This guy is a broken record. All he is is a diversion to try to keep people upset so they can go after bigger fish. If the conservatives would look them right in the eye on national television and just say “prove it,” it would look like an old road runner cartoon with the puffs of smoke where the libs were equal to the amount of them that were just there. The conservative need to grow a pair.
