President Trump warned on Tuesday that he would "fight back" after Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) delivered a blunt denunciation of nationalist forces that was seen by many as a thinly veiled attack on the president.
"People have to careful, because at some point I fight back," Trump told WMAL radio host Chris Plante. "I'm being very nice. I'm being very, very nice. But at some point I fight back, and it won't be pretty."
McCain responded to Trump's comments moments later, saying that he has "faced far greater challenges than this," according to CNN.

Illogical?
A senator cannot be recalled. And he is not about to be kicked out by his colleagues.
You people better back Trump,he’s a fighter and he’s all we’ve got. Without him we’re on a faster track down the craphole. Stand with him, he loves America, which is a hell of a lot more than the I can say for anyone else in DC.
This looks like the most well researched article on the incident. The take away is that McCain was inaccurate in his statements.

No kidding. The President is in the middle of the sharks. I can’t believe we have pearl-clutchers who think he can fight these battles without some poor GOPe / Democrat sap getting their feelings hurt.
He’s trying to salvage some part of this nation from the Obamanation that caused Desolation of much of what was great about this country.
Some of those who were on the Forrestal and other persons familiar with the ordnance told me that because the rocket did not hit McCains craft, only actions by the pilot could have caused any bomb to fall from McCains Skyhawk. These sources who spoke under the condition that they not be publicly identified agree with each other that, if any bomb fell from the McCain airplane, it was because of actions that he took either in error or panic upon seeing the fire on the deck or in his hasty exit from the plane. Two switches in the cockpit of a Skyhawk need to be thrown to drop such a bomb, according to the sources.

You had indicated that people on FR who were anxious to get rid of Republicans were asking for Democratic judges. Neither of us suggested McCain be recalled. I think pressure to resign would be a good thing and that is what I took to be your meaning.
I’ve watched the video but it’s hard to pick things out.
I don’t know if there is video saved of the initial event. if there is, it would be interesting to see.
That did not happen.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a single seat subsonic carrier-capable attack aircraft developed for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps in the early 1950s. The delta winged, single turbojet engined Skyhawk was designed and produced by Douglas Aircraft Company, and later by McDonnell Douglas. It was originally designated A4D under the U.S. Navy’s pre-1962 designation system.
So you’d prefer to have the Republican senators confirm leftists to the supreme court?
Yes
I would refrain from trusting someone who thinks it has “engines”.
“You had indicated that people on FR who were anxious to get rid of Republicans were asking for Democratic judges.”
No I did not and that is laughable. But I did assume that some people were aware that once the Senate becomes majority democrat (by suggesting that McCain and Graham should go democrat) then they will in fact appoint Leftist judges.
Just like he's abused his time as a POW to shield himself from criticism he now uses his death illness to do likewise. I hope someone reveals him for just what he is and people stop protecting this vile individual!
McCain is mentally ill. The spreading glioblastoma in his frontal lobe may explain his worsening emotional outbursts.
As a physician, and above all, as a citizen of Arizona, I insist that his mental capabilities be periodically monitored.
My question - to whom can I appeal that someone monitor our increasingly crazy senator. Any suggestions?
Wrong again. The U.S. senate does not appoint judges.
Thanks for tossing a bucket of ice-water onto that old accusation.
Sincerely.
McCain said...he has “faced far greater challenges than this”....
What he’s faced has been brought on by himself alone. His former wife faced challenges and he ditched her to marry money. He’s the worst example of a an and none whatsoever of a soldier. His life has been a farce he’s manufactured...and he’s been protected time and again by the swamp creatures.
I will not sorrow at all when he is gone.
I wasn’t aware the Senate nominated Judges. I thought their part was to confirm or not confirm.
“When people are tortured, they squeal.”
Not always. . . .
