TICK TOCK: Assange Releases Mysterious ‘Encryption Key’
Gateway Pundit ^ | October 15th 2017 | Joshua Caplan

Are Fox News host Sean Hannity and WikiLeaks boss Julian Assange up to something? On October 8th, Hannity tweeted his famous “Tick Tock,” warning — but this time — with a twist, including a 7 day countdown. One week later, Assange followed up with his own cryptic tweet.

It could just be a threat to some government who does not want certain information released. Julian could be saying “Try Me”.
His usual practice has been to release an encrypted data file with the threat of releasing the key. So if this is not a key to an already released file then it is kind of strange. Yet a key without a file is just as worthless as a file without a key. Well almost. I suppose that some day his files will be able to be cracked.

Could be - I believe some of the encyrpted files he released last year have names that correspond to governments-countries.

However, that 0000 are the exact two middle bytes, which makes me think this message has two parts.

Could be the first part is a hash to verify the message and the second part is the encryption key ( or vice versa). Though it would make much more sense ( and be more secure - since the key would be much longer instead of being half as long by splitting it) to take the hash of the file and then use that hash key as the encryption key. Thus when it is decrypted using the key, you can then run a hash on the file and you have an instant hash verifier ( the key itself )

Converted to character and printed from Python using repr(), it is:

'GgWtjzMlc0fk1J4S\x00\x00\t\x07\x84\xb4\xf7\x87v\x16\x86\xf7\xa77W\x07W6'

Notice that the part before the 0000 is all printable 7-bit ASCII, whereas the stuff after is arbitrary binary garbage.

Perhaps the first part is a stream cipher key, and the second is a nonce to be combined with the key to decrypt a particular file. Although one would normally store the nonce prepended to the encrypted file.

I suspect a lot of this isn’t easily grasped by most folks. With good reason, it’s not something that they really need to know or run into very often.
I didn’t get into it much myself until I started with Linux - it doesn’t take too long before even the novice Linux user learns about checksums.
Encryption is a bit different than just verification, but it goes hand in hand with it.
Have to wait and see if this is something for public consumption/distribution or if it’s something more like him just verifying to someone else that “he’s really him” or the like.

But something sure has suddenly gotten into Hillary’s bonnet re:Wikileaks:

I suspect Washerwoman is worried as well.

If Assange fingers the late Seth Rich as the leaker, everyone will be asking, who made Seth Rich late?

LOL!

Her campaign operatives screwed that up. They released the video early, on the Friday before the second debate. It was supposed to be released on Monday, just in time to blot out any favorable coverage of Trump's debate performance the previous evening.

Instead, Trump mounted a devastating counterattack Sunday afternoon. He staged a presser with himself and four of Billy Jeff's female victims. Then the debate occurred with the four victims and Billy Jeff in the audience. It was a masterful performance!

Stay safe, Julian. You helped bring the truth of Hillary/Democrats to American voters. Your voice is still needed today.

My guess: I think Assange has the contents of the “Insurance” folder from Anthony Wiener’s laptop.

We know that Hilla-the-ripper has left a long trail of bodies behind her.

May Seth Rich's violent death not have been in vain.
