A local IHOP waiter went from serving pancakes to serving up justice on a would-be robber. Turns out, the bad guy messed with a third-degree black belt... "I like, ran up. He like, swung the crowbar at me. I blocked with [my left] arm, I hit him with [my right] hand and I pulled him to the ground. During that process, I don't know if my face hit the register or hit the ground - because he has a scar on his head and I have a big old bloody nose now."

Give that guy a raise. And a new shirt.
More likely they’ll give him a pink slip for not laying back and letting himself be killed.
They’ll probably fire him.
He’ll get fired in this post-Obummer, sissified climate.
Probably not. He isn't white.
If they are stupid enough to fire him, they can expect massive bad publicity and he can expect multiple job offers.
...and a haircut!
No man buns!
A black belt with a man bun!
Is this the definition of cognitive dissonance!?
I blame Steven Seagal. And I like Steven Seagal. lol
They didn’t fire him. The manager thanked him.
True.
Thanks for posting such a great story.
It annoys me when they say something like “he has a third-degree black belt.” Because without naming the martial arts style it means almost nothing.
In some styles, a third degree black belt means that they are a glorified dancer, able to execute training katas with grace. In other styles it means they can brawl with a muscle man twice their size and win. Most black belts are between those two extremes.
However, I am not surprised about the homeless part. There is typically not a whole lot of money in being a black belt.

Well, it meant something to the robber, now didn’t it. But please do keep us abreast on what “annoys” you. I think I can speak for most as to express that’s why we’re here.
