Rezaei urges Trump to recall 2016 Farsi Island incident
TEHRAN, Oct. 12 (MNA) – A former commander of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps waned US President Trump not to forget 2016 Farsi Island incident, noting “your dreams will not come true.”
Secretary of the Expediency Council and former IRGC Commander Mohsen Rezaee posted Thursday in his Twitter account and responded to the US threat to place the name of IRGC in the list of terrorist groups.
“Have you forgotten what happened to the US sailors encroaching on Iranian territory in Farsi Island last year? Your dreams will not come true,” he wrote.
Trump needs to confront with the Revolutionary Guards Corps to see how millions of people join it, he added.
On January 12, 2016 two United States Navy riverine command boats cruising from Kuwait to Bahrain with a combined crew of nine men and one woman on board strayed into Iranian territorial waters and immediately were stopped and arrested by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy.

محسن رضایی TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei cautioned US against its planned move to blacklist the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), saying that US President Donald Trump’s dreams will not come true.
“Mr. Trump! Have you forgotten the Farsi Island and (American) sailors? Your dreams will not come true,” Rezaei said in a message posted on his Twitter account on Thursday.
“As soon as Trump targets the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, millions will join the IRGC,” he added in a follow-up message.
In 2016, two US Navy crafts carrying 10 Marines were seized by the IRGC Navy after reaching three miles into the waters surrounding the Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf.
Trump is expected on October 15 to “decertify” a landmark 2015 international deal about Iran’s nuclear program, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He is also expected to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization, as he rolls out a broader, more hawkish US strategy on Iran.
In comments on Sunday, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said if speculations about the US administration’s “stupid decision” to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization are true, the IRGC will, in turn, treat the US military around the world, particularly in the Middle East, as Daesh (ISIL) forces.
