I grew up in Whittier and now live in La Habra, near where Whittier Blvd. peters out into a residential street that becomes Whittier Ave. when it crosses into Brea. I used to know a girl in East Long Beach who lived not far from Bellflower Blvd. and went to Woodrow Wilson High School.

You were lucky to see the Righteous Brothers before they became superstars. In the fall of '62, my classmates liked to sing this song, inspired by the nightclub. After completing its chart run, the song became a fixture on the "oldies" playlists of our local rock stations for years afterwards.

Small world!
If she went to Wilson and lived off of Bellflower Blvd. She was in the Los Altos area, near LB State (my alma Mater)where I bought my first house.

LOL
I remember that song!
Yes I was lucky and got in because a friend of my brothers worked there.
CC was a 'Very Nice Place'
And I recall the Righteous Brothers as being from Bellflower, though I have also heard OC. Not sure which is correct.
