Claims that the shamed Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein sexually abused an actress in London are being investigated by Scotland Yard, it emerged on Thursday.
The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation into the claims, made by a woman understood to be now living in the Liverpool area.
The alleged assault took place in London during the 1980s and is the first to be reported to police in this country since claims emerged last week that Weinstein sexually assaulted and harassed a string of Hollywood actresses.
It cames as the British actress Kate Beckinsale said Weinstein tried to ply her with drink when she was just 17.

Harvey didn’t make it out of the country, he’s here in Scottsdale AZ. He could be looking at some sex offender hard time.
Now that he’s in so much trouble, I hope Harvey goes scorched earth and outs all the other Hollywood pigs like Ben Affleck who also harassed and assaulted women. Hey, what does Harvey have to lose at this point? It would be fun to watch that blood bath.
IIRC there is a provision in some states to extend the limit for child abuse. There was a phenomonen of memory triggering after a lot of years when the victim became an adult. Don’t recall specific. Obviously this week has given some people courage or a jar in the old memory cells.

I hope it blows that cesspool wide open.
I don’t know what’s what on that subject. I favor a statute of limitations unless someone was very seriously injured or murdered. If you’re 33 and man grabbed your ass when you were 16, then too bad. Speak up in 7 years or forget about it.
There is no statute of limitations on murder but I agree in speaking up within a certain time period regarding sexual assault or forget about it.
.
need some consideration for victims who were young kids.
