The sky was heavy today, but it was cool enough to take a good hike this morning at Jacob’s Pond. The whole pond looked different, as the leaves are starting to change. Also the light in the forest was different, as a lot of trees have shed their leaves, and one can catch more glimpses of the pond through the lacy sunlight.
The pond was totally still, and filled with migrating ducks, geese, and swans, and water lilies dappled the surfaces which reflected the turbulent skies like a dark mirror.
We took “the road less traveled” and ended up adding an extra mile and a half to our hike.
Blue is still home, but maybe I will take her to my brother’s the last week in October.
By then, it gets so cold that it’s just not fun riding.
And Blue prefers the heated garage!
Glad you got to get out and get in a good hike.
Is your throne comfy?
