The problem is that the Russians never properly designed an aircraft carrier like the Americans did with the extensive experience on such a ship design.

Look for more cutbacks as the world price of oil stays low and growing numbers of US shipments of LNG to Europe cut into Russia’s cash flow.

Yes. The US could shoot down the offending aircraft. But why not take out Russia's only aircraft carrier to send a message.

Of course, WW III might follow... But sometimes shooting ducks in a pond is fun...
