What am I missing here. That guard knows if he was shot before or after the shooting started. Did no one ask him?

The guard and his supervisors know exactly when he was shot. So who gave the police the information, and what information do the police have that they are disputing the time he was shot? This is where I am going. I want the police to come forth with why they changed the timeline, and I want them to detail their evidence.

I feel like I am missing something here, too. The security guard and the maintenance man both know when they were shot at and whether it was before or after hundreds of rounds were shot out the window. The police should be able to interview them, compare their stories, and determine when they were shot. Not to mention the security guard's bosses. And all the cameras.
What is the dispute? Do they have some reason not to trust the security guard and the maintenance man?
Why is MGM disputing a timeline that actually makes them look better -- proactive in the face of a tragedy? And why are they doing it publicly?
Very odd.
