After 8 yrs of Obama I wonder how many good chiefs are left.
At least he didn’t bend/break the taxpayers’ warship or kill sailors like several others in recent days. Some people have no sense of proportion about what to get outraged about.
Why did he lie about his mother living in a dangerous area? I don’t get it? How would they know he was lying?

He was on a ship, guarding a door for no apparent reason. He was standing and closed his eyes. When he opened them, there was a Captain in his face.

A lot if vessels are using reverse osmosis now. Sea showers are a thing of the past.
But on the last ship I was assigned to, we we pumping 5k gallons of fresh water overboard every mid watch. When I found that out my sea shower days were over.
I told the other cooks to shower extra long. Nobody likes a dirty cook.
Could be worse. I’ve read that in the Roman legions the penealty for falling asleep on guard duty was death.

A Marine officer once told me “three days of p*ss and punk” was a great attitude adjuster.
Grog...............Rum mixed with water...................hence ‘groggy’....................
Sounds like good reason for discipline. Gets across the point: you don’t need to know _why_ you’re guarding a door, just make sure you’re alert enough that you don’t “blink” and unexpectedly find someone in your face.
If you REALLY want to punish them, make them use a restroom that corresponds to their given sex rather than their gender identify.

Okay, this article appeared in the Navy Times. There’s one thing in this article that struck me as odd... I can’t ever recall the Navy having a “ships secretary” on board, this is the Navy times right? WTF is a ships secretary?
