Capt. Aycock looks on as the Shiloh is brought into dry dock for scheduled maintenance. (Lt. j.g. William McGough/Navy)

Ramona V. Flowers: This is good garlic bread.
Scott Pilgrim: Yeah, I think garlic bread would have to be my favourite all-time food. I could eat it for every meal. Or just constantly, without stopping.
Ramona V. Flowers: Then you'd get fat.
Scott Pilgrim: No, why would I get fat?
Ramona V. Flowers: Because bread makes you fat.
Scott Pilgrim: Bread makes you fat?

The real question here is whether it was WHITE bread and water, which would show that the Captain had racist proclivities. </sarc>

Even Holly Graf didn't last that long.

Notice the captain in question is no longer in command. They wisely put him in charge of a broom closet at the Naval War college.

They’re crying about bread and water? No wonder Iran was able to capture US sailors.
I thought the worst thing was the man on guard making sure no one in the brig got any sleep.
They could always bring back flogging...give people something real to cry about.

Better to leave discipline of junior sailors up to the Chiefs.
They’re much more imaginative.

How did he rise to Captain of a large ship? There must have been previous indicators in his career.

Ahh, but the strawberries that’s... that’s where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox DID exist, and I’d have produced that key if they hadn’t of pulled the Caine out of action. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officers...
