Santa Clara County and its employees sue Trump over DACA

Following suit with the city of San Jose and jurisdictions across the country that have vowed to protect young “Dreamers,” Santa Clara County and its employees on Tuesday will announce a lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program.

Officials with Santa Clara County and the local Service Employees International Union will announce the lawsuit at the county government center later today. It’s the first lawsuit in the nation filed jointly by an employer and a labor union on behalf of DACA beneficiary employees, according to the county.

There were 1,740 DACA recipients in Santa Clara County who were eligible to make the October deadline for renewing the protections as the administration phases out the program, officials said.

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo last month announced the city’s lawsuit challenging Trump’s decision to end DACA.

“DACA recipients include public servants in our own City Hall, providing public safety and other critical services to our community,” he said. “They all deserve our support and they deserve our nation’s welcome.”

Santa Clara County and its employees sue Trump over DACA

What are these folks smoking???

DACA is illegal since the America Hating, Piece of Work, Imposter Obama made it an executive order, which is illegal and the idiots in Congress did not even challenge this little convenient fact. One of the major reasons we want a change in leadership in the Senate and the People's House.

WTF. Is was an illegal exec order, not even legislation. There is absolutely no standing despite them probably already having a fix with a corrupt fed judge.

They want to “protect their Dreamers and their employees?”

Presumably their employees are employed to provide “services” for all of these Dreamers, proving that they, the Dreamers, are only here for “benefits” aka welfare!

No Dreamers - no welfare benefits and no need for government employees!

Do the math, no Dreamers = lower taxes to CA!

Huge waste of their taxpayer’s money -but that’s no skin off their noses, they were probably elected by illegal aliens voting anyway!

Reading comments at the site, I find that at least a few of these Dreamers are actually employed by the city and/or county and folks are not happy about it either, when jobs should have gone to the local citizens.

Plus, some responders are also not happy that the county is broke but can find the money to sue the Trump Admin. in which they have “no standing!”

A sitting President cannot be sued for his performance of duty. Only Congress can exercise that right. Isn’t that the law?

Liberals don't think laws apply to them if they don't like them. But, I think you know that.

....It makes you wonder how many illegals are working for them...

If they started working for the County before Hussein’s unconstitutional DACA they used stolen/fake SSNs. Round ‘em up and deport the whole lot.

Deport all illegal alien invaders. Arrest those who harbored them. Seize all assets of both.

I cannot even imagine a legal basis for claiming the Federal Government has no authority to enforce federal law against admitted criminals. I assume the foundation of this case is judge shopping and that the thugs on the Left made that their priority.
