Security guard shot before concert shooting began
On Monday, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo announced a change to the sequence of events that occurred on Oct. 1, saying a security guard who encountered Paddock was actually shot at 9:59 p.m. local time, minutes before the 64-year-old unleashed a hail of gunfire on unsuspecting concertgoers.
Previously, authorities had said that the security guard, Jesus Campos, was shot after Paddock had opened fire on the crowd below.
Lombardo said Campos immediately reported to hotel security that he had been shot. However, responding officers did not know Campos had been shot until they arrived on the 32nd floor and encountered him, Lombardo said.
It's unclear what ultimately led Paddock to stop shooting at the people below. Officials had originally thought that Campos distracted him.

Issue is....this is NOt a small change in the time-line of this event.
Idiots. You would melt the barrel.
Is that anything like electric nails?
From cnn...”An open door a few rooms away from the Las Vegas suite of the man who was gunning down concertgoers at a music festival set off an alarm that prompted a response from a security guard, Clark County Undersheriff Kevin C. McMahill said Friday.
The alarm from a room “a number of doors down” from Paddock’s likely was a coincidence, McMahill told CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.” The door was not forced open, had been open for a while, and Paddock didn’t have the keys to that room. McMahill said that door either had been left open or didn’t shut completely.”
I hadn't heard that before. A coincidence, eh?
Mandalay Bay was an all-out, 911-style meticulously-planned Jihadist terrorist attack on patriotic Infidels having a good time. Paddock was left for dead to be found and proclaimed the shooter without any evidence he was the shooter.
QUOTE: “...200-round burst through the door, hitting him in the leg.”
The security guard would be hamburger.
Realistically...
Did braking out the window bring the security guard? Recognizing the outer glass ‘curtain wall’ was breaken...yes that’s the proper term...the glass phasade is hung on the building, it’s called a curtain wall. (I’m a Structural Engineer.). Floors above and below may well have heard the smashing glass.
Wouldn’t you expect the front desk to get calls upon guests hearing massive windows being shattered?
P.S. If there is video of Paddock doing the shooting I WILL KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT ON THIS ATTACK.
I would be interested to see how many of these happen per day at this hotel. Vegas does have pretty sophisticated electronics for their rooms so it would not surprise me if they have this setup but if it happens once a day, that would be unusual but if they have hundreds of these a week (there are 3,309 rooms at the resort) it would not seem so unusual.
While everyone is focused on the security guard and the changing timeline, what about the “maintenance man” mentioned in passing that the security guard encountered on the 32nd floor after he got shot? Who is he? For all we know, he was the one that shot Campos from inside the room, shot Paddock to look like a suicide, and then went on the concert shooting spree, before getting out another way that only a “maintenance man” (or someone with unlimited access to all rooms and areas with a “maintenance man” passcard) could. He magically appears on the 32nd Floor and is told to leave by the security guard. With nobody alive in the suite, nothing happens until the police blow the door an hour+ later.
When seconds count, police are only minutes (15 or more) away.
The “search warrant” you are referencing was issued AFTER he did his shooting. Poorly written news stories made it sound like he knew about the warrant, but it was AFTER he was dead that the warrant was authorized.
Yes... or someone seeing or hearing it crashing outside. Regardless, it was apparently a door alarm that put a security personnel on that floor at that time.....
the maintenance man
do what? - hmmm...would a maintenance man be a drilling holes kinda guy?
Has anyone heard who was in this room? Has she/he been interviewed? Was the room on the same side of the building as the broken windows? Was this room even occupied? Maybe someone left an empty room open for the shooter for some reason. There already are speculations as to why two broken windows and the possibility of more than one shooter. Maybe there was a plan that involved something for this room as well? Lombardo did say at one time that when they breached the room there was evidence that the shooter was going to try to get away....
One of his weapons is said to have been belt fed and some of the bursts on the videos are longer than thirty rounds.
Diamond tipped drill.
