Security guard shot before concert shooting began
On Monday, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo announced a change to the sequence of events that occurred on Oct. 1, saying a security guard who encountered Paddock was actually shot at 9:59 p.m. local time, minutes before the 64-year-old unleashed a hail of gunfire on unsuspecting concertgoers.
Previously, authorities had said that the security guard, Jesus Campos, was shot after Paddock had opened fire on the crowd below.
Lombardo said Campos immediately reported to hotel security that he had been shot. However, responding officers did not know Campos had been shot until they arrived on the 32nd floor and encountered him, Lombardo said.
It's unclear what ultimately led Paddock to stop shooting at the people below. Officials had originally thought that Campos distracted him.

” have heard the smashing glass”
Can you even break that stuff with a hammer? I know it’s not bullet proof, but it’s a lot tougher than your windshield.
How much force is required? You are in the field...please tell us.
I read it somewhere.
The rught tools, diamond tipped drill bits could do it. The hammer alone is a joke. The hammer is good after the window is drilled diamondly.
Very very private the four seasons.
Must have had that “Rain Fire” setting on his “Ghost Gun”
Yes, I agree.
The Sheriff outranks the FBI, and hhe should not cede the investigation to them at all—just use them as a resource.
Watching last Friday’s presser with the FBI minder glaring over the shoulder at the Undersheriff giving the press conference made me doubt we will ever get to the truth.
Bump
So he drilled holes in the windows, then smashed them out?
I bet if there were people trapped in their rooms during a fire, they’d get busted out pretty fast.
The question is where is the evidence of the means used to drill those windiws? Why can”t anyone tell us exactly how it was done? Seems like that would be 101 detective work. Were the drills removed and why?
I’m full of crap?
The building is it’s own frame, the curtain walls are proprietary. Simple attached laterally and structurally floor to floor. As a structural engineer you would never design the curtain wall of such a building.
These are proprietary systems that ride on the structure.
I have an engineering license, World Trade Center before and after, worked on monumental structures, your credentials are...?
They don’t want you to know the real story.
“I bet if there were people trapped in their rooms during a fire, theyd get busted out pretty fast.”
It’s Vegas.
They can’t have drunks falling out of 40th floor windows, or even JUMPING out.
I’m betting it would take AT LEAST an 8lb sledge to break one of them.
People keep mentioning Mohammed.
I havent followed updates today and wondering why they are saying that. New info on Paddock found?
Given the level of calculation seen in this crime - not unreasonable to speculate he may have intended to make some sort of small opening in the windows - without creating an alarm or loud sounds.
I’ve had my doubts about the “smashed with a hammer” theory - I suspect that is much harder than you might think.
Also can’t discount the effect of the breach - if it was an explosive breach - it may have blown out the already weakend/cracked/shattered windows.
We don’t know what the windows looked like DURING the attack - only after.
WTH??
The fog of war.

More like smoke being blown by the investigating authorities. I now think that while there may not (or maybe there was?) have been a conspiracy, there definitely now does seem to likely be a coverup. Perhaps incompetence of police/security actions/reactions or ABSENCE of appropriate & timely actions/reaction.
IMHO, something smells rotten.

Freeper sense of humor,I guess.
