BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — NATO doesn't want a "new Cold War" with Russia despite members' concerns about the Russian military buildup close to NATO's border, the alliance's secretary general said Monday.

Jens Stoltenberg was speaking at the end of a four-day NATO parliamentary assembly in the Romanian capital, Bucharest.

"We are concerned by .... (Russia's) lack of transparency when it comes to military exercises," he said.

Maybe because those other weak-ass Euroweenie “allies” of ours wont do jack squat when it comes to a real war and just leave it to us to the heavy lifting as usual.

We never, ever, had a cold war “with Russia.”

We had a cold war with the various totalitarian (and mostly global socialist) regimes seeking world domination with the loss of our freedoms being at stake.

Russia and the old Soviet block States were players. But so were China and North Korea and Cuba and Cambodia (under Pop Pot) and many other countries large and small.

There was a time when NATO had spokesmen who at least vaguely knew the history of the twentieth century. Clearly that is no longer the case.

Without a new Cold War NATO has no reason for existing.

Many people argue the Cold War was in reality a fake war and used and used to sell weapon systems and create a dialectic the people in power use to maintain control.

Here is a fascinating speech by Maj Racey Jordan in charge of the Lend-Lease Act of WW2 where we supplied Russia with defensive weapons. In reality we gave them MUCH more. Unlimited secret patents, uranium, vodka, 32,000 bombers, etc. From 1963 a speech on his book ‘Major Jordan’s Diary’:

I hope you are not talking about our allies that went into Afghanistan with us, and stuck it out far longer than most of us thought they would.

Astonishing, nato moves right up to Russias border. Russia begins having exercises inside their own nation across from where nato has deployed.
And that’s a “Russian build up on natos border”

Astonishing arrogance

Tell our so-call NATO ally, Turkey, to return the dozen Americans it is holding hostage.
NATO is obsolete. We should leave it.

Russia has done some provocative things. But so has NATO.
As much as some folks want it, there is no clear, unmistakable, “bad guy” here.

We never, ever, had a cold war “with Russia.”

Want to elaborate, or perhaps I should say, justify that statement?

The Cold War was indeed with Russia as the main adversary and primary player. China opened a second front in that Cold War, only not as cold, with Korea as a battleground, and they came out victorious. If you think I am wrong, which country has become more prosperous & powerful, and which one has become more weakened & divided following that part of the Cold War?

Some even were even deluded into thinking the Cold War ended when Russia imploded and the Berlin Wall came tumbling down. That was never the case and as far as Russia was concerned, it was just like calling for a cease fire to enable them to regroup, buildup, and weaken America with SALT treaties & aid from the U.S. While at the same time systematically starting flareups around the globe to get America to expend & waste both human & monetary national treasures.

I did justify it, and you personally acknowledged the accuracy of the statement in your inane reply.

Absolutely Russia was the primary player, but not only was Russia not the sole player, it's primacy was not so great that the danger ceased when they suffered their setback in 1991.

All stupid pretentiousness aside, the world didn't become a safe place with the collapse of the Berlin wall, the Muslims stepped up to the plate in the longstanding Socialist/Islam alliance, Eastern Germans didn't all give up their Stalinist aspirations, and the degree to which the United States has scaled back its conventional and Nuclear capabilities in favor of asymmetric bullsh!t was ill advised.

And who are the big threats now? It isn't Russia alone.
The European Union bureaucrats in Belgium are every bit as much a threat overall (for all their lack of troops) as Russia. And China left the third world technologically in the nineties though few people outside of manufacturing companies were aware.

Who is sponsoring the export of Antifa to active operations in the US?

It ain't “The Russians” it's “The Europeans.”

My point was and remains that though Russia was at one time a driving force in the Communist ambition for world domination it was not indispensable to the effort and communism would still be locked in its struggle to control the world if Russia vanished from the face of the earth this very minute.

Our fight is not and never was against as small an entity as “The Russians” Communism as a whole has always been bigger than its hosts.

Had you said the Cold War was not with just Russia alone, I would have responded differently. Because, as you can see, I would have been in total agreement with you. However, Russia was the driving force behind the Cold War, with the west engagement being reactionary. The other players gained confidence after Russia led the initial charge. In the case of China using Korea as the battlefield, that came 5 years after the end of WWII. WWII's ending marked the start of the Cold War. Had we listened to the Patton's & MacArthur's of our military, and pummeled them both while we were far superior in strength, it would be a different world today for sure.

Like America's children, the entire western culture has been systematically subverted by communist infiltration into the education systems around the western world. That is why we have so many fools within western governments, entertainment industries, news organizations, and just about every other aspect that help define western culture. They even used western freedoms that we recognized, and weaponized them against our systems by pushing the envelope as to what those freedoms entail.

I never said the world has ever been a safe place. It is full of harshness, as well as, pure evil..

As for referring to my argument as inane, it was not. However, your blanket statement was woefully incomplete at best. Making the blanket statement that the U.S. were never engaged in a Cold War with Russia is just factually inaccurate. I merely set the record straight. We were engaged in a Cold War with Russia, or more specifically with the Soviet Union, which included Russia & her satellite nations. Which included both those that surrounded her and other nations that were geographic (outside of the Iron Curtain) removed from her and also were not under the thumb of the U.S.S.R., yet shared the goal of destroying America. But those relationships were tenuous at best. Antifa is not something new, it has been around since the 2nd World War, in Europe. So the lack of a real education & the influence of decades old communist supported groups such as Anfifa, it does not surprise me that Europe is even further down the rabbit hole than we are. Though we are rapidly catching up to them.
