I’m 2hrs south of these wildfires and can smell the smoke in the air. Of course, 40MPH winds overnight didn’t help.

Just a bad recipe and prayers to all that are affected.

I just saw that they have recently put a 747 into service to spray fire retardant...much better than helicopters.

The 747 is better for some things, but you still need the copters to get in close and to fill in the gaps.

The Russians have a huge firefighting jet that is much better, but for some reason we haven’t bought any.
