These fires come after the wettest winter in Norcal in the last 100 years.

The 747 is better for some things, but you still need the copters to get in close and to fill in the gaps.
Interesting...Did not know that.

14 fires burning in 8 different counties. All have little or no containment.
Thanks....Had not read that.
I was there last November for a wedding—beautiful country...been there other times too...I suspect it is going to take a lot of time and effort to rebuild.

You and I both knew they would come out from under their rocks...hey always do...
And they make Free Republic and Conservatives seem small minded, selfish and nasty.
They are no different from the the liberals they rail against here-—the liberals who wish bad things from hurricanes to mass murder for Trump voters.
Two wrongs don’t make a right...
Sadly, it is very telling about some people...

Wow - so sad to hear. As I was looking at the other thread last night about this I noticed it was about 3:30 am. My first thought was that it seems like a very urban area - not way out in “the woods” somewhere (they mentioned one fire was near a Fred Meyer store). The next thing I thought of was “Most folks are sleeping at 3:30 am - how will they even know their neighborhood is on fire?”
I know in the Midwest we had sirens for the tornadoes. I don't think we have anything like that in Seattle. It probably wouldn't wake me any way. My cell phone is off at night so reverse 911 won't work. I do have a radio that will go off with a weather alert alarm that is VERY loud. I should see if it is tied into fires.

Not good...I have not stayed at those hotels, but I know where they are—not a lot of fast food in the area, so sad to see Arbys and McD burn down...K-mart would have been helpful for temporary toiletries, etc...This is going to be tough on the area.
Not a lot of ways in area either as I recall.

No issue with the website on my end using ad block and Noscript.Which website are you referring to? The ABC7News site is the one that requires the "Watch Live" add-on. I also have Adblock Plus and NoScript but I still would have to click "Watch Live" to view.

Sorry, but thats how much I despise the state of California in general.
My son lives there, my grandmother lived there, and my aunt and all my cousins and spouses do...My spouse may be moving there temp. for employment. I have dear friends who have moved there for employment...ALL CONSERVATIVES...
I truly take major issue with you posting what you do on this thread...but perhaps it is a learning experience for you...
You seem very insensitive...You need to really rethink your attitude.
OH, and don’t forget the forum in which you are saying you despise California is LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA.
Think about it...
