Former US Pres. Carter Wishes to Visit N. Korea and Meet Kim Jong-un

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter reportedly wishes to visit North Korea and meet leader Kim Jong-un to discuss North Koreas nuclear programs.
Park Han-shik,, a professor emeritus at University of Georgia who is an expert on North Korea, told Yonhap News Sunday Carter wants to play a role in resolving the serious situation, as he did during the Clinton administration in 1994.
Park said that Carter wrote a recent editorial in the Washington Post to convey to Pyongyang his wish to visit.
The piece suggested sending a high-level U.S. delegation to Pyongyang for peace talks. Park said the North has not responded yet.
Park says U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected several offers by Carter to travel to Pyongyang, saying the situation is one for the present administration to handle, not a past president.
NO!
Great history recap
I used to think Carter was just naive but history shows him to be proud pious vain and arrogant - a weak man who served as a useful tool for evil in exchange for moments of adulation here and there
Jimmah and the Norks deserve one another.
I can’t believe he is even physically able to make a trip. He’s pretty frail. Plus isn’t US travel forbidden? I hope Trump nips it in the bud and if he can’t, say no secret service protection could go there.
Sounds like the brain tumors are back.
Hey, Jimmy, think you can maybe steal a political poster for me while you’re there?
Didn’t Carter go to Cuba and kiss up to Castro too? Lots of liberal elites bow before violent touch men... boot lickers..
Fly over North Korea and throw him out. Piece of garbage deserves to rot there for eternity.
No offense.
I just heard Fox contributor, Gillian Turner, a former NSC member under Bush and Obama, say that the past 25 years of failed negotiations was really a good thing. According to her, it is far better to negotiate than be confrontational.
It is this kind of stupidity that has made NK a nuclear power and a country to emulate by other Third World dictatorships. Get a nuclear weapon and the US will not mess with you or interfere in your domestic affairs.
What we have done is make the problem worse rather than nipping it in the bud. The Israelis took out the Iraqi and Syrian nascent nuclear facilities in the very early stages.
Tiger, what do you think? My initial thought is that Trump MIGHT be happy to employ Jimmy Carter in an overture. There really seems to be no downside, is there? If Carter gets a major concession (however improbable it may be), then it is a genius masterstroke of diplomacy using a former Demon Rat president. If it fails (highly likely), Trump can say he even let Mr. Peacemaker himself give it a chance.
...Carter wants to play a role in resolving the serious situation, as he did during the Clinton administration in 1994.
Which is why the N. Koreans now have nuclear weapons.
Didn’t Carter try to pull this sh** before with NK?
President Carter, please go back to building homes and stay out of it. Don’t muck up what our current President is trying to do.
Carter should meet with Iran and ask for our hostages back.
‘So when this arrogant a-hole ends up in a North Korean jail, then what? War?”

I don’t think so. Let him stay there. Let’s not waste precious young American blood on trying to save his sorry butt.
Just put your sweater on, President Carter, and sit next to a fireplace somewhere. Get yourself a lovely dog you can talk to. Oh, and make sure to put your ‘WIN” button on.
I’m pretty sure NK is now under a complete travel ban for all US citizens by Trump.
Carter can’t go because no US commercial plane can fly there, it’s off limits.
(Unless he hitches a ride on a B-1, but they won’t be landing.)
‘Hell break federal law if he goes, ‘

He’ll be okay if he brings Dennis Rodham with him. ;)
