FEMA Administrator Rips San Juan Mayor’s Criticisms: ‘We Don’t Have Time for the Political Noise’

FEMA Administrator Brock Long ripped San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz for her attacks on the agency Sunday, saying "we filtered out the mayor a long time ago" and he didn't have time for "political noise."

President Donald Trump visited the Hurricane Maria devastation in Puerto Rico on Tuesday and praised relief efforts there, but Cruz criticized him for his "abominable" behavior when Trump threw paper towel rolls to storm survivors and said his visit was a publicity stunt.

It was the latest in the war of words between the two after Trump said last weekend she had exhibited poor leadership in response to her criticism of the federal response as too slow.

She tweeted Sunday morning that after power collapses in the San Juan hospital, she had asked for help from FEMA and gotten nothing.

..

"We filtered out the mayor a long time ago," Long said. "We don't have time for the political noise. The bottom line is we are making progress every day in conjunction with the governor."

“FEMA Administrator Brock Long said President Donald Trump’s tweeted criticisms of San Juan’s mayor during recovery efforts from Hurricane Maria were about her not sufficiently working with federal officials responding to the crisis.”

An angry lezbo. Can’t think straight due to her resentment of Trump for taking the election away from hillary.

“The problem that we have with the mayor unfortunately is that unity of command is ultimately what’s needed to be successful in this response,” Long said. “The bottom line is we’ve had a joint field office established for numerous days in San Juan, and what we need is for the mayor, the good mayor, to make her way to the joint field office and get plugged into what’s going on and be successful, so I think that’s the bottom line with that tweet.”

She has refused to engage with the relief efforts.

She has engaged with partisan hack bickering. And she is getting called out for it. Even by her fellow Puerto Ricans.

Absolutely right. The mayor and her ilk do NOTHING to help PR. It’s a place that I have visited and really like, partly since many of my friends when I grew up on the Upper West Side in NYC were displaced Puerto Ricans and partly because it’s a really beautiful tropical isle that could be very important to the US and could be converted into our own offshore investment area (Clinton was the one who shut this down, btw).

The big problem with PR is the leftist municipal unions - supported of course by the AFL-CIO and all of the mainland unions - that a few years ago defeated the one good governor they had and is now into keeping any progress from making its way to PR.

These people are Americans, and I think we need to get them out from under the thumb of the NYC union mob.

Her spot as a keynote speaker (rambler) at the next democrat convention is assured. When turds like her float to the surface the dems snatch them right up and groom them.

All you need to know about her...

San Juan Mayor Turned Her Back When Asked to Swear an Oath to the U.S. Constitution

"And in 2013, when she was taking her oath of office, she was asked to swear to uphold the U.S. Constitution, and she turned her back on the proceedings. She eventually did take the full oath, but you could tell she wasn't happy with that line. She literally turned her back on the U.S. Constitution..."

Amazing how all the other politicians in Puerto Rico praise FEMA and Trump except this one mayor who refused during the oath of office to uphold the constitution. She had to reluctantly do so after the audience stated to get riled up.
Amazing in that the corrupt news media found only this whiner.

From what I’ve read, the unions are responsible for most of their debt problems, as they are in California, Illinois, etc.

Just think, the Trump FEMA is dealing with 4 major disasters at once .... more than any of his predecessors and doing it well.
