Trump: military option for North Korea not preferred, but would be 'devastating'

2017/10/08

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump warned North Korea on Tuesday that any U.S. military option would be “devastating” for Pyongyang, but said the use of force was not Washington’s first option to deal with the country’s ballistic and nuclear weapons program.

“We are totally prepared for the second option, not a preferred option,” Trump said at a White House news conference, referring to military force. “But if we take that option, it will be devastating, I can tell you that, devastating for North Korea. That’s called the military option. If we have to take it, we will.”

Bellicose statements by Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in recent weeks have created fears that a miscalculation could lead to action with untold ramifications, particularly since Pyongyang conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test on Sept. 3.

EVERYONE already knows the certain consequence of Norklandia going too far.

What is very cool in this episode of “crazy friggin’ people with nukes” is that NOBODY knows what “going too far” is to Trump.

And everybody, everywhere, thinks he’s crazy.

Perfect.

Trump is waiting for the next provocative missile launch by the NORKS which will come very soon. Then it will be game on. This will give him a clear defensive rationale for military action. This event will be a game changer IMHO.

Bellicose statements by Trump and Kim Jong Un?

Reuters describes whats going on as a war of words, between two aggressors. It's as if they think that Trump's words are not said to defend against the NORK aggressor.

Our local Freedom Radio says North Korea has 2 satellites that orbit over the USA. They belive they are nuclear EMP. They cannot be hydrogen yet but still troublesome.

I belive I will increase my Mormon survival reserves a bit.

Norks power grid is out in a blink of an eye. Nothing launches and Rocket man is vaporized before he knew what hit him.

Don’t listen to the babbling media.....

I don't think the reaction to another NK missile launch will be any different than the last ones -- if the missile just lands in the ocean somewhere. Just more indignation and talk.

I think Trump will wait for fat boy to make a mistake and hit some actual target before any military retaliation. However I don't think the NK leader is stupid. I think he will just keep pushing the envelope. Thus the status quo is preserved until one side makes a mistake. Trump is smarter and more patient than many believe.

No one knows the day or the hour. ;-) Apparently Elohim wanted Roy Moore to win. Among other things. We are definitely in the Book of the Revelation, since the Rev 12:1-3 signs have happened. Just waiting for Rev 12:5

I don’t think the meeting with the generals at the WH was for show, or that Sarah Huckabee’s comment about the seriousness of the situation is bluster. The NK threat will only get worse and even more complicated with every passing day. The longer Trump waits, the worse his options become.

And don’t forget, our response is not just addressed at NK. Iran also needs to get the message that the days of appeasement are over. Trump has to do something decisive soon. The threats are proliferating fast.

Did you see Trump’s tweet about 20 minutes ago. He is running out of patience. Diplomacy has failed and he says only “one thing” will work. I think we all know what he’s referring to. The only question is when.
