The costumes of a Texas State University sorority have angered many but left others wondering if it's worth the outrage.
Members of Texas State's Alpha Delta Pi recently wore Hispanic and Native American-themed costumes during an event that welcomed newcomers.
A tweet to the university by Joseph Nicholson showed photos of costumes and argued that "we need to do better."
Not everyone agreed.
"Idk I'm not offended by it and I'm Mexican," replied one Twitter user. "Like come on guys stop being so damn sensitive. It's a damn costume."
The debate over the costumes eventually made its way onto The University Star — Texas State's student-run newspaper — in an opinion piece titled "The energy you save: Why I can't be bothered by another case of Greek racism."
Matthew Flores, a spokesperson for Texas State, said the costumes are not in violation of the school's code of conduct, but noted that the incident was brought up while speaking to the campus Greek society.
According to Flores, sorority and fraternity members attended an interactive workshop that helped students "embrace diversity" and "peel back the layers of social justice."

Someone wanted to change the name of Squaw Valley. It was considered an insult to Indian females. Not sure if they are still trying to do that.

maybe off topic, but some of the liberals seem so unhappy, all the time. They are always bitching about something.
Just as a general over the top observation, it seems that conservatives are happier than liberals.
Liberals focus so much on everything they think is wrong with America, and what they need to do to “fix” society. They don’t enjoy their lives because they are on some “crusade” or other. (are we allowed to use the word “crusade”?)
And it’s as if the battles never end with the liberals.
For example, aren’t their lives complete now that we have homosexual marriage?
No, they are still unhappy. Now they are pushing transsexual bathroom access, and are unhappy about that issue. Also, they are pushing the issue of “equal” access for gay wedding cakes to be prepared as a civil right.
In short, it seems the liberals are never satisfied with achieving stated goals. Instead, once they achieve a goal, such as homosexual marriage, they move the goal posts, and move on to other aspects of the homosexual agenda.
You should warn people about 1.) a Superbowl ad, and 2.) Carl’s Jr. said they’re dropping the “sex appeal” approach in their ad campaigns, so watch’em while they’re available.
This is an epic failure on the part of liberal educators, who obviously need millions more in Federal funding to spend on the psych wards that used to be called colleges. More money would have prevented this. /s

My son was President of his fraternity. He said this is the reason why they don’t allow liberals in their fraternity.
The complainers have to stop crying and come out of their mother’s basement every now and again to complain about nonsense. Now don’t anyone dare dress up as a banana peel or shoelace..
The Mexican guys who worked on my roof this summer wore hats just like those.
It seems people in these academic institutions act like bratty children more and more. Always crying, complaining, playing dress up while others are offended by the costumes. Very odd.
Do these people ever have time to learn anything useful?
What would the tourist markets in Mexico do, if “whites” were not allowed to wear the sombreros, ponchos, wedding dresses, etc. they sell there? They would lose a lot of customers.
